Skin & Body Care (Reviews)

On my quest to find the perfect everyday facial cleanser, I have come across probably over dozens of products. They either were "feminine" cleansers that didn't do anything but leave residue on my face, wussy acne cleansers, or tough guy acne cleansers that left the face afire. This soap put an end to my travels. I've been using it as a daily preshave wash. I have suffered from mild acne all my adult life, and this product, in combo with A/S splashes and toners, has just the right...
Deceptively good product. Has a very strong alcohol burn. Will reduce blemishes within a very short period of time. I swear this thing has a lot of alcohol content, and the burn is pretty good. Wonder if its good as a styptic? Scent is pretty strong, but fades quick. Overall a very good product. Bought at Walgreens for around $7. Ingredients: alcohol SD 40 - B, calendula officinalis flower oil, borago officinalis (borage) seed oil, achillea millefolium (yarrow) oil, carum...

A while back, in a search for a good pre-shave oil, I found this. I searched for a review here on B&B for it, but couldn't turn one up, which was surprising. If I missed one, please forgive me. When this came, and I looked at the tiny little bottle, I wondered what the heck I'd spent $30 for! On first examination, I figured it might last me a few weeks. But now, perhaps 6 weeks later, using it 2/3 of the time as my pre-shave, I was wrong. When ClassicShaving recommended using an amount...

You can pick this stuff up in most bath&body work stores or on there website link attached: http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2095621&cp=&pg=2&sr=1&origkw=anthony&kw=anthony&parentPage=search If your like me you have oil skin in summer and dry in winter, this stuff works great! And I really can't believe that a review was not done on this before. I happen to get 2 free sample packs of this well leaving the store and I have to say this is a great cleaner! They...
Fern is quickly becoming one of my favorite scents . This soap has an incredible scent and I could only think of one other fern scent that is better and that would be Penhaligons wild fern . but this is stuff is great and half the price . Priced at $23 usd I think the price is spot on for this wonderful soap. The soap was very moisturizing and was very slick . whipped up a great lather in no time . if you like Trumpers you will love this soap . if you have never tried any Trumpers this...
Penhaligon's Bath and shower gel Is an incredible match if comparing the scent to the EDT or the shave cream . This scent is just incredible Not one thing bad I can say about this scent . The packaging on this one looks great but is actually a think plastic bottle I can understand why it is not glass like the other Penhaligon's products you do not want to drop a glass bottle while you are in the shower . the packaging very nice and appropriate for what this product is for ...
If you like shower gel, you must try Honeybee Sue's! I just treated myself to the Lemon Verbena and it was well worth the purchase. Scent: A true lemon with verbena undertone that will get your morning going for sure. "Wake up and smell the lemons!" The scent lingers a bit post rinse, but not so much as to interfere with your cologne. Price: About what you'd pay at your local drug store for the cheap shower gel that won't last you half as long or smell half as good. So, good...
Holds great, smells great, invites comments. I have curly hair and have spent a lot of time and money looking around for a suitable product to give me hold and definition and tame frizz and shower hair. I find it so easy to use: run a glob through my hair when wet, leave to dry natually, then redefine. It's so good i find i don't need to reapply the following day (unless i've just had a shower), but can just re-define it with my finger tips. A good plus is that it doesn't make my dirty blond...
I love these huge bars of soap. I've tried the lavender and a few other scents. They provide a generous lather. I've also used it as a shaving soap when I'm in a rush or bind. It makes a very thick shaving lather that's kind of spongy feeling. The scent is mild. One can smell the lavender, but it doesn't linger too long. The bars are 200g, so they tend to last awhile. The price is fair. It's not cheap, but not the most expensive soap on the market either ($3/bar). ==Tom
There is no wonder why Savon de Marseille (an olive-oil-based soap from France) has been used for centuries. It has no fragrance and it is made with at least 72% olive and palm oils. I use it before shaving, before applying a Geo. Trumper shave cream, because it cleans without drying. But I have also shaved with only the Savon de Marseille on my post-shower face with great results. The economy of using SDM as a preshave soap make it a perfect choice, but I also love the rustic...
This is perfect for temporary relief of itching or minor skin irritations. My skin is very sensitive and it gets easily irritated after shaving my legs. This is free from any perfume, is dermatology tested and cost $7 (Can be found in any Wahlgreens). I've been using Eucerin products for more than 5 years and I love them.
If you use talc, I would say this is one of the best on the market. It smells great and the scent lasts all day. It's a little pricey for talc ($13), but very nice!
Although this cream can be on the pricy side, I have seen it anywhere from 10 - 15 dollars in stores and online. I however was lucky enough to get a bottle for 5 dollars at Marshalls. In any case, I find it hard as a guy to find scents in moisturizers that I really like. This cream has an awesome scent -- something like a toned down version of Cool Water perhaps. I have very dry hands, I found this product to not only smells good, but form a protective moisture barrier as well.
Great product for those with sensitive skin, turns irritation into smoothness in no time. Also the tingle you get from this product is spectacular. After shaving around my beard as usual I experienced a little redness, I have never used talc before but WOW I will be using this product for the rest of my life! Discussion tread
I suffer badly from the occasional razor bump... I do not get them all the time, but when I do, I get them bad, and seem to take forever to go. I basically had got used to having 4 or 5 ugly red bumps on my lower neck for the last.... well - for as long as I can remember. I have previously tried Tend Skin, which I did get some success with but only up to a certain point (i.e. it reduced the bumps about 70%, but didn't quite manage to get rid of them) and PFB Vanish, which worked like a...
I saw this advertised on the forum, and i'm up for trying anything new, so I thought i'd give it a go. I was very nearly put off by the hefty price tag (30 dollars for a small 150g pot). I actually paid more than this, as I went for the combo pack of the gel and an 'expert' alum block (which is an excellent alum block that leaves no residue on your face after application). First thing I noticed was the outer box was nice - the presentation looked great. Gold print on black gave it a bit...
I saw this in a local Tesco store, and had to give it a try. It is a pre-shave product, that is claims to replace the 'hot towel' stage of pre shave prep. I was extremely skeptical, as I have tried many products in the past that claimed to soften the beard before a shave, and none of them came close to the effect of holding a hot hand towel to your face for a few mins (which is probably the only part of my every day shave I don't particularly enjoy). But I am glad to say - this product...
For those of you who suffer from razor bumps, you know they're embarrassing, frustrating, and sometimes, painful. I see them as "acne of the neck" because they are just as ghastly. I have curly, wiry hair and always avoided using a razor because of my fear of a razor bump eruption. Of course as a DE shaver, my post-shave irritation is minimal but I am still one bad blade away from an outbreak. As a result, I always kept a bottle of Tend Skin Solution with my shaving gear. However, it...
My favorite local shop has their own line of shaving products. They focus on latherless products, but their shave oil is an amazing compliment to any shaving regimen. Price At $21, BM fits right in the middle with any luxury brand shaving oils. Quality The shopkeepers state that they use a very high amount of essential oils to put this together, which is obvious from the first application. The product sinks in quickly, while moisturizing effectively. There's no mineral oil in...
My job requires me to take multiple, week-long trips throughout the year. When going on one of these trips, I like to intentionally forget a toiletry or two as it gives me an excuse/motivation to shop the area in which I’m staying. On one of my more recent excursions I stopped into a Whole Foods to pick up a bar of bath soap (I hate the stuff they have at hotels). After fulfilling this need with a bar of Bee & Flower Sandalwood soap, I took a trip down the isle containing all of the...
