Skin & Body Care (Reviews)

Well guys, what can i say, this stuff is amazing. We'll start with the smell: it contains bay oil and other goodies and is very strongly scented with natural oils. It's strong in the pot, but when on the hair smells beautiful. I'm sure people smell it when i walk past. mmmmmmmmm. HOLD: this is strange, it starts to harden as you're adding it, we're talking a few seconds, which makes for great hold, though it doesn't look too product-laden. Now for greasers and punks, or those with spikey...

I purchased this Musgo pre-shave soap from Alfred at Fendrihan a while ago and have been meaning to write a review for sometime. What can I say other than I was impressed by this glycerin soap. The scent of the soap is great a lemon/lime scent is a perfect balance that gets one prepared for the morning shave. It lathers well and does seem to soften the beard, I leave the lather on my face and use it as a base and then apply the initial lather of my soap or cream. I have found that the...
Every Man Jack pre-Shave Scrub is one of the best deals in the market of facial scrub products. For under five dollars you get a product that uses coconut derived surfactants and polyethylene beads to loosen the dirt and oil that is trapped deep in your pores, and then scrub away the dry and dead skin. It utilizes the properties of various marine extracts and vitamin E to soothe and moisturize your skin, and the signature mint fragrance leaves your face feeling vibrantly refreshed and ready...
I purchases this facial wash to go with the RSC Cream. It has the same scent which I consider pleasing. RSC considers it a pre-shave too since it contains coconut and grapeseed oils. I've been using this product on occasion (when I want to use the RSC cream) to prep my face in the shower before my shave. It's nice and slick, washes clean, and leaves my face feeling soft and ready for the hot towel. Is it really necessary for a good shave? I would say no, but I do enjoy the product...
This is by far the best lip balm I have ever tried. Most other lip balms are on one end of the spectrum or the other: either too greasy and oily....or so dry and waxy that their effects are lost after a minute. This product fits perfectly in between. It doesn't make my lips feel greasy nor shiny and it lasts for hours. I only have to only use it once or twice during day and my lips feel fully moisturized. Another advantage of the lip balm is that it has a slight cooling sensation when...
It looks like this stuff is made in the US, so not sure why no-one from over there has reviewed it - it's great! You can't miss it on a shop shelf, its aluminium casing shouts quality. The only downside is the price (£14) and the fact that while the bottle looks good it's pretty poor at dispensing the product; when you're getting towards the end and have it upside down to get the last out you often end up with too much. On their website it warns you about how thick it is! Minor details...
I trust things Swiss. Let's face it (pun intended), they make great watches and clocks and their chocolate is the best in the world. Oh, and they're smart. So smart, in fact, that they have come out with a men's skin care line that lists liquid oxygen as one of the ingredients (along with those famous Swiss botanicals we all go ga-ga over). A few years ago, caffeine was touted as THE substance that could erase those pesky lines and wrinkles around the eyes. I've used it in a popular...
I purchased Taylors skin cleanser in hopes that it would be just like all other Taylor products, high quality with effective and noticeable results. Sadly, I was wrong. The main problem is that it has the consistency of Lubriderm, smells like it as well. There is no lather to it whatsoever. The main ingredient is Mineral Oil, which has been known to cause acne. I really cant understand why Taylors would choose to put this as its primary ingredient. It also has Jojoba oil, but its such a...
D.R. Harris Milk of Cucumbers and Roses is really one of the best all around products ive ever tried. To start, its a cleanser, if you so wish it to be. To use as such just spread it over your face with a cotton pad or your hands and wait a minute then wash off with hot water, however it does not lather, it is the consistency of a lotion. The best uses are as a moisturizer and after shave. As a moisturizer, apply like you would any other moisturizer, amount the size of a quarter or slightly...
I picked up a box of the Sienna bath soap from C&E. $20 for a box of three bars (5.3 oz. each). The Sienna performs great as a bath soap. The scent is almost exactly like the shaving soap (maybe a touch more leather); the bars last for a fair amount of time (two weeks so far on one bar); and it does what bath soap is supposed to do. The soap lather is fine. Nothing to write home about. It's a vegetable soap (with vitamin E added), so I don't expect heaps of lather. Afterward...
Price is a bit much. Scentwise, I was hoping for more Opus 1870, but I wasn't getting it. Lathering is pretty good, as is the packaging, and the moisturizing qualities. I'm not sold on if I'll purchase another bottle, as it just wasn't what I expected from a shower gel tagged "Recharge" &"Black Pepper"
A little bit more expensive being Paul Mitchell than other brands such as Matrix Men and Fructis by Garnier. I like it, but it dries very very hard on me, so I don't use it too often unless it's really windy outside or I'll have to be gone all day and won't have time to shower or readjust my hair. It dries my hair out, so I'd reccommend that nayone who uses it, use a conditioner as well.
Price is good, it's not too expensive Quality is good compared to the price. It dries fairly hard on me, so if you want the softer wet look, this might not be the right choice. But if you're like me and want a somewhat wet look that will hold until you take a shower or work out, this is a good, inexpensive option. It dries my hair out, so I can't put it down as moisturizing, but I have dry hair anyways so I don't want to completely penalize it. Packaging is pretty standard, and I...
This is a good toothpaste for those that like to have a bit of Splenda in their coffee- - - I'll explain in a minute. The taste is cinnamon and mint, with the cinnamon being predominant to me. I think its somewhat sweet tasting but not as much as a Crest or Colgate kids toothpaste. I really like it. Now to my remark regarding Coffee. . . I like to have coffee in my car on my way to wherever I'm going in the morning, and if I use a Crest/Colgate or something else, I wouldn't be able to...
It smells somewhat unusual, but that's probably b/c there aren't any sweetners used in it. The toothpaste itself looks a little odd, its a brown-reddish type color, with salt particles in it. The premise behind the toothpaste is that the Salt base alters the PH in your mouth, which prevents cavities from being able to form. I've been using it for about 3 months, and haven't had the normal sensitivity in my teeth that I would normally get, and my mouth feels close to "dentist clean"...
Latherability and Moisturizing are irrelevant here. Basically this is a strong tasting toothpaste that has a clovey type feel to it. It's british, and an acquired taste, so it probably won't suit everyone. Its a good toothpaste for me if I plan on having coffee a little bit later in the morning, as it's sweet enough to not completely throw off the taste of coffee. My main problem with it is the fact that it's hard to get in the US, so you mostly will have to import it to get it.
Background: Fuller's Earth Clay is a few centuries old. It was first used by textile workers (fullers) who used it with water to remove oils, dirt, and other contaminants from sheep's wool. Fulling is the process of cleaning wool with clay. It has been used in kitty litter to soak up urine and in automotive garages to soak up oil and other spills. Fuller's Earth for the skin is pre-blended with the right minerals so do not use your cat's kitty litter or go to AutoZone! Your...
Price- I found it at a local merchant for USD$9.95. Online, you can buy it direct for around USD$12.00, which I think would still be a fair price. Quality- This is a very nice soap. You can read about the quality variables in the sections below, but outside of those the soap is heavy for its size with even consistency, giving uniform results. Latherability- Fantastic. I use a bath sponge, and a few strokes across this bar and I'm ready to go. Those few strokes are more than enough...

Started using this toner last week and today my wife made a comment about how 'nice' my skin was looking. Great scent and price/ounce. Leaves face dry and fresh after only a short time. Only complaint has been with packaging. The blue bottle is a soft plastic, aesthetically pleasing, but the first bottle I recieved through the mail had ruptured, and a small amount had spilled out. The bottle/cap seal is no longer airtight, and can be a little messy. The company I ordered from...
When my face is dry and it's really cold and windy outside, this is the stuff I grab. I've never had a day that Nivea Revitalizing Lotion Q10 couldn't keep me moisturized. On me, it sinks in almost instantly and never leaves me feeling greasy, just nice and smooth (some people on drugstore.com said it left them greasy, but I've never had that problem - maybe they had oily skin?). It also contains SPF 15, so it protects you from the sun! Price: $8.59 at drugstore.com isn't cheap, but it...
