Damp and drying knot measured at handle lip 30mm. The brush does not have a prominent bloom and for its size the footprint stays very tight. It feels and maneuvers like a 26mm knot. I have had the da Vinci 290 for several years now. Every time I use it I am amazed at the quality of the construction and how well it makes lather and how luxurious it feels on my face and head. It has never shed a hair and after years of use looks as good as when I purchased it.
The knot is 25mm.
This is one of Simpsons classic options from an iconic traditional brush maker. The hair is 3-band 'super' badger that is attractive with excellent backbone, soft tips with some scrub. Precisely what I wanted as one who face lathers hard soaps! Out of the box, there was a bit of 'badger funk' that dissipated after a few lathers and the brush has lost very few hairs.
