Skin & Body Care (Reviews)

This all started with a PM to Mama Bear. I've had this low-level constant itchy and mildly flaky scalp for a year or so now. I used to use coal tar products back in the day, but I refused to go back to them. They stink and are really harsh, and I hate to think what else they are doing to me. So I PMed Sue and asked if she knew any natural alternatives. She suggested I could try her Rosemary Mint shampoo as she had experimented with it herself and had success. Naturally, an order was on...

How to review this stuff? It claims to both cleanse the face and soften the whiskers before a shave. Well, it does get rid of the dead cells and whatnot. I was suffering an oily skin attack and this helped beat it back. But one of the big claims to fame on the packaging was how well it worked as a pre-shave. Let me be the first to tell you that, for a tough set of whiskers, this stuff does jack. I let it sit for a long time, used different amounts on my face in the shower, and my...
Price. This Italian weighing 150 gr/5.3 oz is not a cheap bar soap. However, it will surely last for a while. Quality. To me this is is the overall verdict. It is definitely an upper-class soap from the presentation to the performance. However, for this price? I am sure there are other similar products at a more decent price. Personally, I have very dry skin, and although it is aimed at "all skin types", it lacks that extra moisturising I would be willing to pay for. Latherability. I...
Pears Soap has been around since 1789, and is known in its native England as well as in the US. – How much can you write about soap? Well, here goes: Price: You can get a pack of three bars for $3, and each bar will last for ages. Hard to beat for value. Quality: Though purists might complain that this soap is no longer manufactured in England, but in India, quality has not suffered: It is made with largely natural ingredients, and no scarily polysyllabic chemicals. – Matured for...
A co-worker who knows about my love of wet-shaving and skin care products (SCAD) gave me a couple of small 2oz. sample soaps from Happy Baby Herbal Soaps for my birthday. Due to the collection of other soaps that I already had it took three months before I got around to trying this soap. Let me state up front that I am regretting having waited so long! --- From their website http://http://prettybabysoap.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=hs: "Sweet Orange...
I actually caught this stuff on the web by chance, but it looks like Black Opal has other shaving products too: http://www.blackopalbeauty.com/men_solution.html It comes in a nice brown glass bottle. I know glass bottles and jars are a favorite with wet shavers. You put it on the effected area in a circular motion at night. I didn't really have any major razor bumps, but I figure I put it on for prevention, but walah, I shaved against the grain one day and two razor bumps (red ones)...
Not too much to say about this product.... other than it work, and it works well. It is a superlative alternative to smells deodorants and chemical laden antiperspirants. While I have the "rock" version as well as the "stick" version of deodorant "Crystal" I find the liquid to be the easiest to apply, and works most efficacious, as it rolls on, gets past armpit hair, and provides you with odor free protection. Ingredients.... I am quite a fan, and I use this product daily, year...
I've always wanted to try this soap, so I finally bought it. After using it a few times I'm really glad I bought this, I look forward to my shower just so I can revel in the scent of this bar. T&H description: Extra glycerin moisturizes your skin while natural oatmeal gently exfoliates. This soap contains a chelating agent that will not leave residue or a mineral build up on skin or shower. Quad milled for longevity. Has a wonderfully masculine fragrance of Sandalwood, Cedar & Spice...
This is another quality soap from Mullers Lane Farms. The bar is 4oz and well worth the $5 price for its moisturizing properties. The only issue I had is that unlike the eggnog soap, this soap did not have a scent that lasted beyond opening up the wrapper and exposing the soap to air. Even under warm and hot water there was no hint of scent that I could pick up which was disappointing on days when I could have used the pick-me-up in the morning. However, this soap is very gentle...
Price: $5 (plus tax and shipping) for 4oz is an amazing price for this soap when its performance is taken into consideration. Even though this is a "fast use" soap I had no feelings of not getting my money's worth. Quality: A great soap, perfect scent. Latherability: Not a soap that creates gobs of lather, but it does produce a good volume. Moisturizing: This soap left my skin with a pleasing, non-greasy balm sort of feel that lasted pretty much all day. The soap is made with 100%...
Since being introduced to proper wet-shaving I've found that I like to try new things all the time. When Mama Bear announced that she was going to be selling traditional country soaps from people she knew and trusted then I was all for giving a bar or two a go. I will be up front in that this bar is a mixed bag *BUT* I do not regret trying this bar of soap from start to finish. This is clearly a case where your mileage may vary!! Please, try this or another Issy soap and I hope you have...
I purchased a bar of this bath soap a few weeks ago while standing slack-jawed in the body care section of my local Whole Foods. I've become a great fan of the rosemary/mint combination since I first smelled it care of a like-scented Mama Bear shaving soap puck. Price: This is a big bar (8oz.) chocked full of goodness yet is priced very aggressively. I paid about $4.50 (plus tax) and I believe that I got a very good deal. Quality: The bar does not feel mass-produced like a Dove or...

GET THIS STUFF! Do you have chapped hands? This is the CURE! I have had it for a week used it one time a day and my hands have never been this smooth. Just a dab will do ya, any more is way too much. The scent..........oh the scent if you like bay rum you will be an instant fan! Price, I found a site that sells it for 7 dollars can't beat that! Packaging comes in a light aluminum tin but still nice and sturdy and has a cool pic of a sail boat on her, very nice!
Ingredients..... Overall, a very nice scent and the product works alright, but it's full of chemicals and there are quite a few other options (such as avalon organics) that I feel are superior, and less expensive. Not a bad product... but I wouldn't tell anyone to whip out the credit card and order some immediately. The container (blue part) is a nice glass, however the lid is a VERY cheap plastic.... not bad but again, like everything with this product - just ok. TO DISCUSS...
This is truely a top notch product. Pricing is great when compared to other high end brands and the efficacy is fantastic. its really made a difference to my skin... i would recommended it to anyone who is looking for a gentle and effective skin care system. I have been using it for 5 weeks now and have thrown out a lot of the other products I have not used in months.
I ordered a bar of this from Mama Bear with my recent shaving soap order. The bar lathers well, with a tiny bit of a sweet, candy like smell that fades quickly. There is a lingering smell of grass/hay that I personally like and do not find strong or objectionable. The lather rinses away cleanly and doesn't dry the skin. Thanks go out to Mama Bear for offering the soap... I'll be buying more!

Wow is this stuff good. Price is cheaper than any salon stuff I have used. Quality is better than any salon stuff I have used. Later is great, just a little dab will do ya. Moisturizing is where this product stands alone the best 2 in 1 ever! Scent is lacking but almost non existent. Efficacy is all around a great product. Packaging comes in a cool little bottle with a picture of an "old school astronaut" very neat and cool.

I love this stuff. I had a problem with dry skin and acne but no more! The price of this stuff is defiantly worth it and it is cheaper than other high end products that probably don’t work as well Quality, it works for me so the quality has to be great Lather, not very good in this department, most body washes go in sponge and explode with later, not so here but if you just use your hands or wash cloth it gives you what you need. Moisturizing, I don't even need to stress how...
I received Mama Bear's White Shoulders for Women Body Cream, from my Secret Santa. Thanks Jim! Mama Bear's Body Cream is available in any of her shaving soap fragrances. MAMA BEAR I love everything Mama Bear makes! :001_wub: Sue is unbelievably great at what she does. The Body Cream is amazing. It smells great. I've never found a lotion to be this moisturizing, and it doesn't leave that greasy feeling like so many other lotions and creams. The Body Cream leaves my skin feeling soft...
I've been a fan of the Olba's inhaler for quite some time (over a year). I'm on my second tube now, and thought I'd let you know a little about this. The olba's inhaler is a pocket-sized nasal inhaler that is intended for a variety of purposes, but I use it primarily as a soothing pick-me-up. I enjoy the scent and effect of menthol, which is contained in a high content in this, in addition to peppermint, eucalyptus, and cajeput. I also use this when running or working out to help with...
