DEcember shave number two.

The terrible things that happen to glass geese when you find no other fitting stand for your razor!
I am going to shave tonight, this photo was taking now, early morning. But I likely won't be able to write much and be a bit in a hurry later afternoon, so I do it now.
The Athena and the Ares share a lot of DNA, but just look at this safety bar. It is... internally scalloped? I will post a picture of the baseplate, cut-out from an image by Lambda. These ridges also stabilize the blade and might be part of the secret support sauce (tm) of the blade clamping of the Athena. It's a lot of structural support from below:
The Athena is mild enough to be foolproof, but still efficient enough to NOT give me this "my skin might look BBS, but I can still feel it" result, with some more effort under the ears and neck it can deliver a perfect result. Very good for an occasion where you want to look and feel best!
(Very often I rather apply the Timeless Slim OC as second razor to finish for some others, as it might be and feel aggressive, with its diminuitive .5 gap and employed for scraping rather than a cutting angle it is also on the extra safe side, despite being an aggressive razor.)

@Iridian - the lather slots of the Athena remind me of the Eclipse Red Ring. Those slots also go inward.

On occasion, I've been known to use my Connaught Jade, SOC, Zenith and Omega boars.
And I'm in, at least occasionally, for DEcember 2023.
Not sure that I can stay away from my AC blade razors for an entire month.

Post Shave Routine and products:
1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2
2 - Cold rinse
3 - Alum block
4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1
5 - Aftershave: witch Hazel then VI cologne
6 - Balm: Nivea sensitive skin
Notes: Had a much better shave than the last shave. I took special care with the software using everything for sensitive skin. I also slowed my technique by a lot and really focused on a light neutral touch

Star DE safety razor and a Gillette Silver Blue blade on their seventh shaves this week for me. This combination of razor and blade works well for me and I should use them more often that I do. Just have to work out what to use tomorrow morning and for the next week.- Thread starter
