@Iridian, my impressions of the Wunderbar are very much like yours. I will say that it got better when I used it for a Fixed Four; my best shave with it was the last shave of that month.

However, that is not me saying the Wunderbar won't bite. Perhaps it can be mastered to that degree but I wouldn't say I know it to be true. The WB is otherwise amazingly smooth and efficient.

Coming up this weekend - FOCS vs ATT S2. Stay tuned...

I haven't read much about the ATT S2, a pity as I am very much interested in it. I like their recent Windsor SB90 a lot. They were a pioneer years ago but now seem to fly under the radar. I hope for some fancier handle designs, the heads seem superb as they are.

No, I think you mean the aluminum version...

I'd be interested in hearing how fat that aluminum handle is, if you have calipers and are inclined. Thanks.

Very good shave with a Derby Extra loaded into a Fatip Open Comb Slant. I used puckified ARKO, face lathered with anOmega 49 boar. I've probably undervalued the Derby blades.

Shock result: a Feather on shave 3 is more efficient than an Astra SP on shave 5. I will not claim MSS mastery, just that two passes today got me as close as three passes yesterday. I would not hand this razor to a beginner.

In case you were wondering, there are 33 tiny teeth on each of the closed combs. Crazy detailed casting.

Jim, I only have the SB90 with the Kronos handle in stainless steel. The aluminum version has the Calypso handle.

Thanks for posting the S2 head. One has to look twice to see that it is slanted, it is a very moderate slant twist. Kinda reminds me of the Parker semi slant. How does it shave?

I will check the thread again if you already talked about it and I didn't notice,, sorry.

Apologies to all ATT S2 users. I found quite some feedback on it after closely reading the full thread.

Many replaced the handle of ATT with handles of other razors, that required careful reading. Often I would not have suspected that this was a S2.

Razor(s): Razorock German 37 w/7 O'clock yellow followed by a Razorock Lupo .95 with another yellow
Brush: Razorock Chubby (one of my favorites)

Micromatic Monday Merkur SS

Two razors today, but here is the skinny on Super Slant + Swedish Supersteel:

1 - yes it will stand on its head, @EMG06
2 - I unwrapped my last Rapira Swedish Supersteel. This was my best shave with this model blade. When wielding a rapier, I'm more a Platinum Lux guy.
3 - Ms. MSS got pass 1. Left side=snug cap, right side= opened 1/4 turn. The lange Verschraubung (long screw connection, i.e. two-piece razor) gives a very secure feel even when opened up 1/4.
4 - Nice improvement in efficiency. It earned a shot at the tough stuff.
5 - Neck maelstrom clean up - the quarter turn yielded excellent results without any excessive buffing or pressure.
