I've been working on the Final Countdown dance

Wrestling all the mean wild boar that live here in urban Portland

have been doing lots of conditioning

And I've collected my very first set of boar brushes over the last little bit, with some help, to get ready for the big event.

It is! The 2014. I got it in seemingly new condition off ebay a few weeks ago. I was super stoked to find it at all, but to have it be NOS (LOL, is that a brush term? We use it to describe tubes) made it seem destined. There's a whole thread on it here, which is so dang cool. Researching the brush didn't take long.

I've got it cycled 5 times now, so it's still pretty fresh. It was soft right from the get go however. Like the SOC and the Zenith it was pleasant to use from the start. The Jade is the newest addition to the bunch, arrived just this last weekend.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of these a lot better.

I put it up against 9 other boar brushes in the Boar Brush Pass Around and it made me love the B33 even more. I'm looking forward to this coming Decemboar!

Check out that pass around if you haven't, I learned a lot about the different qualities in a boar brush and am better for it!

Next week folks! Super excited, I head started a bit and have been using my Essentials brush to break it in, it went into November pretty much brand new, but now has a few split ends, but still a ways to go. I kinda wanted to use it another month, but I will instead switch over to the Omega jade as that one needs using too. Or continue with the Essentials brush through December? Or... I don't know. Haven't decided how I'm going to go. Decemboar needs to be a few months lol

Of my 8 boar brushes, the B33 and the Zenith Malachite stand out. I am looking forward to the unbleached Zenith as well, also in the 506 handle style but in black resin.

But so far, do you feel some differences between the 11126 and the 830? How many days are you into the process of breaking it?

So update,

The omega is much more broken in now.

I used some palmolive cream and face lathered.

I still got some scratchy rash from the brush.

I think next time, I will palm larger to begin with, then finish the lathering process on my face.

Until it softens further that is.

The semogue is still way to scratchy.

That will like change by Jan!

Decemboar really changed my boar brush for the better. I thought it was broken in BEFORE Decemboar, but I was totally wrong.

It's so good now, I love it! I hope the same happens to your brushes.

I thought that wilkinson sword was a synthetic.

I think I have it myself, I may have another look now.

Is it a synth? On mine the tips are splitting like a boar. Just clipped a couple off and burnt with a lighter...didnt smell like burnt plastic. I remember that the knot got wider and softer everytime it was used.

Well I guess I should redo my picture!
