SOTD, Easter Sunday, March 4, 2021

Nice 3-pass shave on the day of our Lord's resurrection.

The Razorock Old Type Open Comb paired with a Big Ben Super Stainless blade was just the ticket for a comfortable 3 pass shave that left my face baby butt smooth! The 2-band finest badger from Stirling did an amazing job of whipping up a Bergamot Lavender lather monster in my Anderson Pottery shaving bowl.

Have a great day, gentlemen.

Pre: Hot towel treatment
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum Shaving Soap
Brush: Omega 10066 Striped Boar
Razor: Gold Dollar, No Shoulder, Wooden Scales
Post: Nivea Post Shave Balm

The Gold Dollar is the razor I learned to hone with. Pro: It does not do a bad job on the shave. Cons: Twice as heavy as my other SR's. Difficult to maneuver around the jawline and Larynx. Does not hold an edge as long as other SR's I have.

Easter shave

Prep: Neutrogena Razor Defense face scrub
Soap: Jabonman Vetiver de Haiti
Brush: SOC Mistura boar/badger
Razor: Timeless .68 and .95, matte SS, #6 for each
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel, #3
Post: alum -> hyaluronic acid -> Clubman Pinaud Reserve Whiskey Woods aftershave

Head-to-head with the .68 and .95 base plates tonight. .68 on right cheek and left neck and .95 for the opposite. Two passes WTG/XTG on my face and N-S on my neck. Result: DFS everywhere except my lower neck, which rated SAS. The .95 areas were slightly smoother overall, but not as much as I expected. Feedback was nonexistent. Great shave.
