What's new

There's no such thing as a dumb question, but

This is pushing the limit. OK, I bought a big tub of Jack Black shave cream. Umm... how do you use this stuff? Do I smear it on my face then use a brush to lather? Of place it on a brush and then lather? How much do I use? NoobNoobNoob

I recommend doing a roughly 2 seconds worth of swirls with a damp (not dripping wet) brush. Proceed to face lather or bowl lather as you desire.

If you feel uncomfortable doing that, you can always use a Popsicle stick or something of that nature to take a dollup out.

Mantic59's videos are great for noobs. Visuals truly help.

Enjoy!

The later reviewers seem much happier. Apparently they reworked the formula and the newer version is much improved.

Haven't tried it myself, just commenting on the reviews.

I am not a soap and cream type shaver, or one who uses much in the way of scents. I am much more interested in vintage Gillettes and blades. Having said that, this product is a big improvement in my previous prep (Barbasol with a shave gel base).
The cream is thick, slick and smooth with just a hint of a pleasent, clean smell, just as I prefer. Not a lot of lather, which is not a big issue with me. Shaves are smooth and clean, prep is simple and easy. I still don't use a brush with this, maybe I'll give it a try later, I just kind of smear it on.
I know this is a, um... idiosyncratic review and the results I've gotten probably will not apply to others. This product makes me want to try other soaps and creams.
Thanks, gentlemen all, for your advice and comments.
