After a terrible first outing with the Parker Solo Edge, I finally got up my nerve to give it another try. This time was much better, I treated the razor with more respect and didn't try for a BBS shave. I got a good shave with no weepers, nicks, cuts or irritation. I'm happy to reclassify this razor from dreadful to respectful. So, the Solo Edge might just be the "unknown gem" in my collection.

May 2024 Gentlemanly Restraint Until Month End (GRUME)


Hello friends

Cloudy afternoon, however very pleasant. Perfect for returning to MdC Agrumes, a soap that, in addition to the easy and abundant lather, brings a splendid aroma of lemon, grapefruit and bergamot. The Semogue SOC Boar seems to love the MdC. Greencult 2.0 with a GSB (2) were perfect. I finished with Pinaud Citrus Musk.

We had a visit from an old friend, Johnny Hartman.

Early morning shave,

Another acceptable shave to finish my shaving week.

A great inexpensive shave set up. The Baili BD191 mowed through my stubble effortlessly paired together with the Dorco Prime Platinum making my early morning shave a pleasurable experience.

The stubby Omega boar 10051 is wonderful for face lathering.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick-ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Bulldog Original ASB.

My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.
