Back to the Merkur-Nacet combo for the second shave. The blade is smooth but not as smooth or as efficient as my Personna Labs and Med Preps. It’s all a matter of personal preference but I find the Labs and Meds work well for me in all my razors. Nevertheless, a nice, smooth shave today. Have a good one, B&Bers.

Razor: Parker Adjustable (3) 4 passes plus touch up. Next time I’ll adjust upward.
Blade: SChick (1). Smooth, efficient blade
Brush: Yaqi Green Obsidian. Soft tips. Good backbone on this brush.
Lather: Cooper & French Santa’s Workshop. Smells nice. Lovely thick, slick lather.
Aftershave: Bootleggers Green Freeze. Cools my face nicely without being too cold.
Balm: Cooper & French Santa’s Workshop. Does good things for my face.

DE SOTD, Thur, Dec23rd 2021

Razor: Razorock 2nd Generation Lupo.72- Excellent mid range, excellent design, best de razor in my razor rotation Harem most times using it(this changes from time to time ), carefree shaving mostly, 2/1000 thousands positive blade exposure. Glad I bought it.
Blade: Gillette Astra SP (4) Sharp & smooth with good longevity.
Soap: Razorock XXX, nice fresh scent when dried down, excellent lather qualities. (Misted)
Brush: Yaqi orbital ring 24mm boar bristle brush, New, this brush went through the cold water in fridge treatment for 3 days & every 12 hrs approx towel dried and is about 70-80% broke in(lots of split ends)= Excellent lather generator, split end bristle hair soft tips, great scrub, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock XXX AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= :a17: Excellent shave with my RR Lupo.72 with a Astra SP blade.

Thursday, 23 December 2021 -- a Birthday shave two years in the making for me, 100 years for the razor -- 1921 Gillette New Improved Tuckaway / King C. Gillette blade (1) / Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber soap & splash / re-knotted Ever Ready 150 Boar -- Found in an antique store early in my wet shaving journey two years ago, it is by far my nicest razor -- despite being 100 years old, there's zero plate loss, dings or dents in the razor. I don't know, maybe the open comb intimidated me, maybe I thought it was too nice, maybe I didn't want to use it and drop it, maybe I didn't want to use it and be disappointed by it's performance (or mine), but I didn't use it immediately. Then the pandemic hit and I planned to use it when the pandemic ended. Two years hence, two big life lessons have rung true: life is short, and I'm not getting any younger, so no day like today. I'm glad I waited to use the Tuckaway until my technique improved because the KCG blades are sharp and smooth, and the shave was sublime; pure and simple. While I'm still afraid I'll drop and ruin it, I'm going to carefully use the Tuckaway again soon. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Semogue LE model doesn’t disappoint. Maybe a tiny bit more backbone, but definitely softer tips than other Semogue finest I have/had (SOC, C3). Like my other Semogues, creates massive lather in no time flat.
Very nice! I have four Semoge finest LE brushes at 24/25mm and lofted at 48/50mm. I believe the Spanish Shaver LE is based on the 2011 handle shape, third from the left below, but is lofted at 53mm which may explain the backbone. For me, the Semogue finest hair is every bit as good as Simpson Manchurian, incredible value. 👍

Soap: Vitos Red
Razor: 1947 Gillette Flat Bottom Tech GT
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
ASL: Orange FREEZE [home brew]

A nice shave.

My first ever Gillette Platinum blade was nice, not as smooth as the KCG out of the box but it may mellow on the next shave... I'll find out soon enough I guess.

I'd forgotten how much of a clean orangey scent, along with the alcohol and menthol BLAST my home brewed ASL provides, stunning! :lol1:

Happy shaves guys. :cornut:
