This is Aaliyah. She was a great artist gone before her time. Some say if not got her death, shed be bigger than Beyonce. I believe this to be true. The sad thing is her music catalog has been held hostage for years by her Uncle, Barry Hankerson. I'm sure he has his reasons, but I dont want her to be forgotten. That is the reason for the change.

My October avatar is the real Hedy Lamarr, film siren from the 30's & 40's, whom Mel Brooks based the character Hedley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles (thus the famous line and my stage name... It's Hedley). In 1933, Ms. Lamarr was believed to be the first female actress to have been filmed naked, have sex and orgasm in a non-porn movie called Ecstasy. It was apparently quite the scandalous film in its day. Celebrated in Europe and banned in the USA. How's that for useless trivia?!
The arrival in yesterdays' mail wasn't a razor, but a nickel anode I needed to plate a handle. The Old Type handle crack wasn't repairable (someone filled it with glue & removing it took a couple of hours). Silver soldered the crack together & it just split again when I fit the ball end.
So, I cut a length of brass tubing a few mm longer than the original handle (I prefer longer handles) and plated it last nite.

Been stalking this wild cased 1914 Shell Pocket Edition for a month or two. I finally made an offer. No regrets.
The case interior is as good as I’ve seen up close and personal. The latch and hinges operate perfectly. I would have liked an embellished case, but this one is certainly shiny enough.
A new record - there were not one, but two blades loaded in the head when I bought it.
Four wrapped Blue Blades loose in the case and five more in the blade holder. With all that blade bounty I may have to unwrap one and try it.
Is the fabric sleeve something that came with this set? It fits perfectly, but might be homemade.

I love the way that the baseplate and cap are impossible to line up without sticking a blade between them. Insert a blade and it suddenly makes sense.

Nice oddballs Todd, what exactly do you have?
The two on the bottom are Russian razors made by Saiver. They are built to use either one or two DE blades. One has a safety bar on both sides. The other has a safety bar on one side and a comb on the other.
The top one that looks like a Single Ring is made by Koh-I-Noor. I have no idea what the model name is for it. [emoji24]
The old reliable Tech with case in ok condition found on a flee market in my hometown.
