Outfits to build around red/blue/cream plaid blazer?

I usually avoid this type of shopping, but I've fallen in love with a red/blue/cream plaid blazer and now I'm trying to figure out outfits to build around it.

This is the blazer in question. It's decidedly low-end, but I'm not willing to commit more to the look as I may hate it 6 months from now and it doesn't seem that versatile either.

So far I've come up with two basic outfits...

Office Casual:
- Plaid Blazer
- Light khaki chinos
- Chestnut Moc Toe Lace-Up
- Button-down Collar Cotton Oxford shirt; white, pale yellow, pale blue
- Yellow or navy tie (optional, probably only with white shirt)

Weekend Casual:
- Plaid Blazer
- Dark to medium-dark straight-leg jeans
- Boat shoes (red, navy, off white)
- Button-down collar Cotton Oxford shirt; white, pale yellow, pale blue

Weekend (MORE) Casual:
- Plaid Blazer
- Dark to medium-dark distressed slim jeans, maybe rolled
- Canvas tennis shoes
- Red or navy heavy fitted t-shirt

So far, this is all I have... and in my mind, there isn't much room to move on the shirt and shoe choice. Pretty much any pattern shirt is instantly out. I also just don't wear a sport coat with polo shirts ever... I feel like the guy who showed up at a nice restaurant without a coat and was loaned one so I could get in. I also usually don't wear sport coats with t-shirts, but this might be a casual enough coat to give it a try.

Boat shoes with khaki chinos may look too "fratty". Chestnut Moc Toes with jeans and button-down might be fine, but in the casual instances I'd wear the coat with jeans to begin with I might as well go with the boat shoes or the more casual option all together.

Any other ideas or variations I'm missing? I know it's not an overly versatile garment to begin with, but are these the only three looks I can make work with it? Even if this is all I can hope for, I think I'm going to give it a go. It's cheap enough (even less than listed on the website) that I don't have much to lose. Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you could point to an equally dated example of pretty much any style you can think of... the difference is in the hair

If you are confident enough to wear that jacket, I'd think you could wear whatever you want with it.

That being said, your choices seem appropriate.

Almost any slacks work. Most shoes. A shirt with a fine grid or checked pattern works, the difference in size of the pattern being
key. Solid ties for sure.

No stripes in tie or shirt.

The jacket works for me.

The problem I see if there is one is that the jacket I'd distinctive enough that if you wear it frequently folks will notice that you are.

lol i sorta like being the guy who just shows up at a nice restaurant. i actually think this sums up my everyday appearance. typically though i don't need to borrow a jacket because i normally keep one in the trunk. not so sure that i ever graduated from a prep school approach to dressing myself.

Not sure it is at all necessary or desirable to do so!

I think that the problem with building a number of different looks around a jacket like that is that everyone will soon notice that you are wearing the same thing all the time. If you like that kind of plaid, I think it works for a counterpoint. Bring it out once in a while for a playful change of pace. I think that a more modest pattern--something in the spirit of the ubiquitous blue blazer--lends itself to a wider variety of uses. Of course it doesn't have to be that conservative. I'm just throwing that out there as an obvious example.

I'd say the brilliant pink Afro wig, black professional Speedo and flip-flops would work well with it for office wear.....
