What's new

Nube saying hey

I'm fairly new to wet shaving/de. It started with a merkur. My grandma laughed and gave me my grandpa 1959 gold ball handle tech (gold). It was more suited to my beard. I finally got results I was happy with. It was more aggressive. the Merkur went to my wife for leg duty. She is now a convert. A couple of months later II found a 59' fatboy for $2.50.Love it. I would like to make my own soap and begin a collection in earnest. I'm also interested in the advertising and old contaners. On a kinda related note i've been using Murray's pomade scine I was 14. I'm 30 now.
Long live Murray's.

Sounds like you are getting the hang of it. I too use my grandfathers old razor. I actually have a razor from both grandfathers. Out of all my razors, probably around 8 or 9, my grandfather's old SS is the one I use everyday.

Hey yourself. It looks like you are off to a good start, and it's a special thing to have a razor passed down to you from a family member. I like Tech razors with Feather blades
pretty well. And welcome to B&B!

I've been shaving with my grandfather's old Tech as well. There's something extra special about family pieces. Welcome to B&B!

It just makes sense. that you and your grandpa would have the same beard.Really want to make soap. Its a fight club thing.

I'm awash in family history that is not my own!

I'm guilty of that myself.....except I don't really feel guilty at all... :001_smile

Neither do I. I revel in it, in fact. I especially feel that way about my Zippos and razors. I'd rather have them on display and not in the bottom of a box somewhere sitting unused and forgotten. True, it may only be seen by literally 10's of people in my house, but still:
