Newb Zen Shave pt 2

A lot of us newbs got a lot out of the 'zen shaving' thread but what a lot of us new birds don't get is things like pastes or diamond spray. Whipped dog has a 4000/8000 stone for $60, is that for honing? Is that all pu need?
If u use diamond spray do yours till need to hone?
Any good vids on the net?

The 4000/8000 hone is mid and finishing. 4000 isn't typically a bevel setter and 8000 is considered the least high grit when calling an edge shave ready.

Diamond spray is still honing but depends on the micron size as to where it fits in.

As for vids, just look with a good word search for what you are interested in seeing. There are dozens+

Some diamond spray is a type of honing? I'd love to know more cuz the sprays are only$20 each and I think u just put it on basala (sp?) wood?
And I keep hear ing about 'natural' stones, it sounds like cuticles(?). Sorry if I seem silly. Just new new.

My definition of honing ranges from using 325 grit to 30k+. Whether its bevel set or super polishing, it's honing to me.

Diamonds come in many sizes, using different medium, like spray or whetstones or paste.

Naturals come from all over the world. Not limited to Belgian coticules. http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Hones
