VISION

The VISION

Is it supposed to be like a slant?

I picked up a used one, in excellent condition, and the blade gap is identical on each side. The blades are touching the safety bar on opposite corners diagonally on the tightest adjustment.

Did it get bent? Is this part of the design? Is the weakening magnetic field of the earth havening an effect?

I shaved with it once. It is a big adjustment. I'm scared of it...:crying:

I think I need to set it aside until I have some free time to practice with it.

For now I'll stick to my Senator.

I'm a big guy, and have huge mits. Gillettes feel small in my hand. I want a ccb. I should make a request for a XXL adjustable!!

I listed this thread wrong....

I was just reading the Mergress thread...

I sure hope you didn't get a bent one. They are two totally different razors. The blade gap should be even on both sides. Start on the least aggressive setting and work your way up. Or you can try a slightly more aggressive setting on your WTG pass and lighten up the aggressiveness on the ATG pass. Either way, the Slant and Vision are two different beasts. And, I love my Vision by the way! I can't seem to get rid of it!

It's not bent. Looking from the bottom up towards a light I can see the blade is not touching the safety bar.

It's perfectly mirror imaged from one side to the other. Just.. slanted...

I will take pictures, to the best of my ability, and start a new thread.

I'm talking about a VISION. Maybe a MOD can fix my thread title??? :cursing:

Hmmm. I would like to see pictures. I am also referring to a Vision. You can modify the title yourself by hitting the Edit Button. Hmmmmm. Thinking...

I can't figure out how to change the thread title.... :confused1

Ok, rather than get all fumbled here, and take poor photos with my phone, and try to upload them, orient them correctly, and post them upside down, I'm going to clarify my original post. As I actually do think I was misinterpreting what I was seeing.

It was TWISTED not Slanted! I opened the TTO. I 'gingerly' dropped the blade out, another scary part of this thing.

I replaced the blade, twisting a million times, dropped it out, looked at it, repeated several times.

I took the blade out, gently "persuaded" the center bar and BINGO!!

Perfectly even blade gap on both side!!!

The center bar was real tight after I field stripped it and put it back together the first time. The blade didn't want to drop in. I presumed that it was just tight German engineering..

Now I realize either I or the original owner twisted the center bar that runs through the blade. Probably why he sold it. He said it bit him if he didn't shave slow and didn't have the time to deal with it..

I'm spot on with my "persuasion" thankfully! It was definitely twisted and not 'slanted' and I really can't believe I didn't notice it for what it was.

Hopefully I never have to do that again. Grabbing something - I just dropped a bunch of coin on - and man handling it is a scary feeling. :scared:

I will give her a whirl tomorrow night. Might explain the weepers I got on the first try, if the blade is no longer twisted I should be good!

?

Thanks TMH478.
