Has any owner of the steel blackbird also tried the titanium h & s PO76 and the paradigm diamondback? I have the PO76 and the diamondback and would like to find out how the steel blackbird compares with those two razors in terms of aggressive feeling and efficiency?

Today was my first use of any Blackland product, a brass Blackbird that I picked up from a forum member on the BST. I've read a lot about Shane's work over the years and was determined to buy the Titanium when it came out as a way of adding the Blackbird to my collection of different designs of razors. But a few weeks back another Titanium became available from a different artisan and I bought it instead of waiting for the Blackbird Ti. What I discovered is that Ti is not my preference. After about three weeks of using it daily I realized that I really missed my brass razors. Titanium is a completely different experience, similar to aluminum in weight and it's not my preference. So, when this brass 'Bird came up I bought it instead of waiting for the Ti. I'm quite happy that it worked out this way. The other razors currently in my rotation are Karve brass, Wolfman SS, Timeless SS, and Charcoal Goods in copper. Using a triple milled soap through a boar brush for lather, I did a 2.5 pass shave on a 24 HR beard. This brass 'Bird is a SB head. The shave was without any issues of irritation and as about a close of a shave as I've ever had. I am very pleased with it. The design and craftsmanship of the head and handle is unique and beautiful. The handle is received into the head in a way that makes everything feel super secure. The beveled top cap is very well done. The razor is heavy, but it gave me no problems. It did not bite or feel like I needed to be super careful. Blade feel is minimal as well as the audible feedback. Just enough of both to ensure you've got the razor at the angle that it needs to be. The fluted handle, mine is the longer 101mm version, is a very good design for keeping a grip on the razor. This razor is two years old and has a patina giving it a gorgeous color. I used it with a Gillette Yellow which seemed to pair well, but I look forward to trying other blades. Blackland is an expensive razor compared to Karve and Yates, but it does feel like a premium product with its nice design touches and exacting craftsmanship. Quite happy to add it in to m

y weekly rotation of razors.

I was seriously planning on it but bought the brass instead. Even so, I'm tempted. Look forward to the comparisons with the heavier 'Birds.
