Appointment with Truefitt and Hill in Las Vegas

FWIW I did stop in the AOS shop in Mandalay Bay as we were making deposits in all the casinos. The AOS shop seemed a bit more commercial to me rather than personal. Everyone in the place is nice, dont' get me wrong, and there were several people waiting for a shave. One guy had just finished and said it was great. I guess it's just a matter of finding the right barber/skin/tolerance/product combination. As they say, YMMV no matter where you go or what you use. I will definitely be going back to T&H however.

On another side note, my mother got me a scuttle for my birthday which was waiting for me when I got home. So for the last few days I've really been spoiling myself. I've started using Coral Skin Food for my pre and post shave, and have also been using T&H Grafton creme and cologne since this weekend.

I went last week while I was in Vegas. My experience wasn't bad, but I don't have as much praise as the previous review.

A gentleman named Joe took care of me. He was from Chicago, where he owned his own shop, and had retired to Vegas. He decided to do some part time work and ended up at T&H.

I believe he used all Ultimate Comfort Products (Pre-Shave, SC, and AS). Hot towels before and between all passes, cold towel at the end. He did two passes, but disappointingly went against the grain on some parts on the first pass. He didn't shave both sides of the face the same way. I ended up with some minor irritation (that I blame more on the quality of the AS moreso than the shave itself) and about half a dozen small nicks, including a small slice on my chin.

All in all a decent shave, though not quite as close as I could do myself at home.

All in all, not bad. I was in Vegas for 3 days and this allowed me to take a carry on without having to worry about bringing my DE and blades. I'd probably do it again given the same situation, but if I checked my luggage and brought my stuff I would save the money.

Alright - to hell with the doubt - I'm going for it. I'll report back on the whole experience.

I can't wait to hear about your experience! I'm hopeing all will go well and you get BBS! :001_smile

There may be good barbers there and there may be bad barbers there. Too bad you don't know a person who could recommend a barber there for you.

Either way, it will be an experience!

awesome story, when I'm next in Chicago I will sure have to go get me a shave, as I didn't know t&h existed last time I was in the city

I got my hopes up when I saw that there was an AOS shop here in Atlanta, but I don't believe they do the shaves there. Well Vegas it is!
