The Brown Leaf

Construction: I love the length and the small ring gauge of a Lanceros (long panatela), and I am a great fan of the smaller ring gauge cigars and the thin and elegant Lanceros most likely will focus on flavor, aroma and complexity of tobaccos. Being perfect in construction, it has a beautiful slightly oily wrapper topped off by the Cohiba signature triple capped pigtail head. Pre-Smoke: The cigar’s wrapper is dark brown in color. It smells great, meaning it has that Cohiba bouquet that I...
Presentation : The Corona Especiales is simply the best Panatela ever made. This cigar is truly elegant and simply represents a classic Havana. Appearance & Construction: The dark chocolate brown Colorado silky smooth wrapper is firm with no really soft spots out of the ordinary. The Cohiba world famous triple cap is a nice touch as well. To briefly sum up, this is one great looking cigar with a nice firm feel. Pre-light: Being one of the most pleasant of the Cohiba ‘Classic Line...
Construction: The Siglo III cigar has no imperfections, quite a smooth rich, reddish brown wrapper with an oily sheen with no hard or soft spots. In my opinion and in a ‘nut shell’…the Siglo III is a very well rolled cigar and a ‘work of art’. Pre-Smoke: Very nice aroma and like with most other Cohiba cigars, you will be greeted with beautiful aromas each time you open your humidor. The Siglo III’s pre-light is soft and woody with a hint of roasted coffee bean. Cutting and lighting...
This stuff is fantastic. It is codger burley done in the classic American style. If this were aftershave, it would be Aqua Velva, old school, nothing fancy just a great smoke every time. Great for pipe noobies as well as veterans. Reasonably priced and available everywhere. Although I've never taken the habit of smoking burnt paper, this was at one time used quite extensively for RYO cigarettes. Me? I burn it in an old school Kaywoodie and in over 5 years of smoking it, I've never had...
Now on to the ratings. Price: These can be had for $40 - $60 a box online. I believe they are a Cigars International house brand. Quality: Constructed well. The wrapper is dark and oily and veins are sparse and small. I've experienced zero burn issues and the draw is on the resistant side of perfect. Value: These are a value whether you buy them outright at CI prices or try your luck at their auction site, Cigarbid.com. Truly a well crafted stick and a decent price. Flavor: Unique...
Looking for a special occasion cigar at a reaonsable price? Well, this might just be for you. Starting out, its presented in a beautiful silver tube with a sliver of oak surrounding the inside. The overall presentation is of quality, and oozes class to those uninitiated with the upper echelons of the cigar world. The cigar itself is heavy and rather moist, well rolled and quite pleasantly aromatic. Although setting me back $15 for the single, this may vary elsewhere [I'm in Australia]. I...
Now on to the ratings. Price: I gave the Fresco Maduro a 10 because I don't think you'll find a better cigar for $2.50...come to think of it, it's hard to find a bad cigar for that price! Quality: Looking at this cigar, it is evident that it's a quality product. The construction is good, the burn is even, and the ash is strong. Value: You simply can't find a better value, in my opinion. Sure, $1 sticks are out there, but I've found that the majority of them lack the flavor...
This great cigar is a true "best buy". At approximately $3.75 (varies by State tax) this cigar is a mild-medium bodied, making it ideal for beginner. Great draw, stays lit without relighting for most of the smoke. Nice flavor notes and good size for that 30 minute smoke. Should be readily available at most better cigar shops.
This is my favorite all time cigar. The smell and aroma is amazing. It is ceder wrapped, so it gives it that wood flavor. It's made by Fuente, which makes one of the best and most consistent cigars in the world. And even with all of this, the prices are good. You can normally find it in a $5-$6 range. It's a Churhill size, so it's good value for the money. If you're looking for a light to medium bodied cigar, for a good price, that has that great cedar taste and aroma, then I highly...
