yes my wife averages 35mpg and she runs 80-90avg on hwy . The car is quiet and has good handling manners very reminiscent of the Miata. She leaning on it finding the limits. Mind you we both autocross with an occasional track day thrown in . So not your normal boring drivers. Kinda the zoom-zoom feeling Mazda's trying to tune in on with most of there cars for those of us who like to feel involved with driving.

Because I put all the car money into racing cars and not street cars.
Bought new. Both have 260k+ miles on them. It is easy for a racer to maintain cars.
The wagon is run more like a small truck with a cap on it with the back seats are almost always folded down.
