Love the Series. I used to have a 62 IIa.
It is the last series Land Rover imported into the US. Was ordered by a law professor here. He missed out as all of them in the US had been sold in 1974 so he had Rover build him one to US specs and imported it himself. I have the production run sheet from Rover signed by the workers. That is why it has British and US plates and is left hand drive. It is the only 1975 Land Rover in existence in the US. All the rest are 1974 and older.
I bought it from his estate after he died back in the 90's.
Here is a web page I made about it when I was doing the restore on it after I first got it.

I put 12 miles on it then took it completely apart and put it back together again. Now it is basically a new 1975 Land Rover.
I too am afflicted with Roveritous. I've owned 6.
I did something last September I hadn't done in nearly 15 years. I bought a car. an awesome new mazda 2. previously I had the good fortune to drive a company car. boy was I spoiled. a new car every 65K miles! i'm happy with my choice.
I thought 87 was the first year for the classics in the US. I could be wrong, too much of having to learn the newer product is slowly pushing out the old.
1999 Ford F-150 XLT (dark blue). 2 wheel drive, regular cab, standard bed length, with Dee Zee tool box on the back.
