Razor: GEM MicroMatic Open Comb, Bumpless (BMMOC)
Blade: GEM PTFE
Brush: Stirling Finest Badger
Cream: Cella Extra Extra Bio
Lather: Face
Post: Thayers WH Aloe
Aftershave: Captain’s Choice Italia

The Shave: WTG/ATG for a nice DFS. My rough to look at BMMOCis an excellent performer, a great reminder to not judge the book by its cover.
“Buster Douglas” and Cella Extra Extra Bio worked great together, whipping up a delightful, fragrant, slick lather.
Italia smells divine and works great like all Captain’s Choice aftershaves.
Nice, quick, down and dirty every day shave. Excellent results, great scents, ugly but smooth face…9.5/10.

Wednesday Wool Fat shave- two-pass, with clean up, rating = 9+++/10, no nicks, no weepers, no irritation, and overall- DFS++, just shy of BBS- a tiny bit in a place or two can be felt ATG:

Pre-shave: hot shower followed by a cool rinse
Razor: Occam's Razor- got a really close, comfortable shave today
Blade: Feather Pro (2)
Brush: Simpson Eagle 3 in Best- an oldie, but a great brush; perhaps my favorite of all
Soap: MWF- Mitchell's Wool Fat opened a new puck today, this is the next to last puck I had in the cupboard; lots of loading on the new puck, but rewarded with a superb, slick lather; from this morning it again became clear why this has been a staple in my den for many years.
Post-shave: cold rinse, then Master Topaz AS splash, a nice basic AS

Wishing you some wonderful shaves!

Razor: Merkur Progress, circa 2013, before the molds were redesigned, set on 3.5
Blade: US Accutec Personna "lab blue" in white plain paper wrapper with laser etching on blade, from 2021 (1)
Brush: Muhle Silvertip Fibre synthetic, medium size
Soap: Tabac
Rating: 9.8

Today's shave on 2 days of growth. BBS after WTG/XTG/ATG passes, and no irritation. Two small nicks on the chin, probably from not dialing the razor down to 3 for this area.

I wanted to compare a new lab blue blade with the 2013s that I had been using recently to see if I could notice a difference because I had recently read some bad reviews of the newer production blades. Thankfully, the new lab blue seems to be just as good as the old ones! If I get at least 7 shaves from this blade, this will be confirmed.

Note that if you are looking on a certain eCommerce site, the German Edgewell Personnas are often substituted for the lab blues. Look very carefully at the photos before ordering.

Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Derby Extra
Brush: Semogue 830

It was a pleasant postlunch afternoon shave. I’ve been trying different blades for a while, and I’ve seemed to have settled on these Derby Extras. They really work well for me.

Great setup and photo--the brush matching the soap/splash set, and the scales matching the scored wood in the foreground!

I had a very close comfortable shave with a fresh Proline today in my Vector:

tempImageH5KZqe.jpg

Brush: Yaqi 26mm
Lather: Seville
Blade: Schick Proline (1)
Razor: Blackland Vector SB
Splash: Pinaud Clubman
Balm: Duke Cannon Ice Cold

I used distilled water today since Seville resists lathering with much volume sometimes. It still did, with this brush, anyway. That didn't stop me from getting an unusually close shave, without sacrificing any comfort at all. An impressive outing for this fresh blade. I did nick myself on my lower lip. BBS- results. Rating: 9.3/10.

This is an excellent soap! No wonder it's one of B&M's favorites. Beautiful scent, rich creamy and slick lather...outstanding!
Shave with the razor paired with this blade was very enjoyable as well. Just effortless, so smooth and comfortable in 3passes for a bbs finish. Rating 10/10!
