What's new

Van Der Hagen Question

Yep, Luxury Scented. That's the same one I started with. I'm still using the mug and stand. The brush is gone and the soap I used only once as the scent wasn't really my style, but it's good soap.

Tony, did the brush wear out or did you just get a new one?

So far the kit has been great. I bought some other glycerin soaps as well, but I've felt like this one lathered the best of those.

I am definitely happy with this purchase.

Mine came with a boar brush that I replaced with some better brushes. It just seemed to have too short of a loft and didn't give up the lather. The tips were breaking in nicely, but it just didn't lay down a nice layer of lather for me. I agree that the Luxury soap is a good one. When Target started clearing out the Unscented, I bought their remaining stock at my local store.

VDH makes an unscented version of their Luxury soap that is available at many Walgreen Drug Stores. It will melt in a microwave - go slow 15 sec or so at a time - once it's liquid you can add your favorite AS or essential oil, maybe some glycerine and Viola! Your very own custom Luxury soap that will waft your favorite fragrance through your well slathered and quaking stubble as it cowers before the blade of doom in your hand. Opps! I got a little carried away there. Sorry. My hot rod VDH is augmented with glycerine and scented with an essential oil blend available locally and known as Emancipator. No. It doesn't smell like Abe Lincoln. Try souping up your soap - you'll like it.
