What's new

I'm the new guy that bought 1767 blades for $45. Hi!

Record so far is 164 on an Israeli Red Personna, sadly I didn't know how good they were until after the went out of production.

On this site we have both extremes. The “one and done” guys and the “long lifers”.

Your stash should last between almost 5 years and almost 775 years of daily shaves…yep, you are good.

Oh, I'm tempted to try other blades, but it will take a long, long time to try many.

Irritation is from removing surface layers of skin. Improper blade angle, too much pressure, or excessive blade exposure all contribute, and I've found that as I get older the beard hairs at the corners of my mouth seem to be retracting into the skin. I have to push out with my tongue to get them flush with the skin while shaving, and that will reduce the width of the edge that is in contact with skin -- easy to use too much pressure.

I also have to shave at about a 45 degree angle up toward my nose too, the hair seems to grow out at an acute angle there (just like my cheeks) and if I don't hit the ATG angle right I get sharp stubble.

Have to use a shallow razor angle there too, steep and it scrapes. Different blades require different shaving angle too, Lord and Derby annoy me because I have to use a steeper angle than Gillette or most other blades and I forget. Much more pulling if the angle isn't right.

Welcome aboard @CuppaJoe__

I salute the fact you went full bore on your blade buy!
