I actually hope poirier puts the stamp on khabib... but i can guarantee that if poirier wins, dana will give that idiot conor another undeserving title shot, since he already beat dustin years ago.

So in the end, it's probably better that khabib wins, then we can finally see him fight tony ferguson.

If Poirier wins, might make more sense to have Poirier v. Ferguson, with Khabib v. Conor as a non-title co-main-event to see who the #1 contender is. The winner of "this" match fights the winner of "that" match in 6 months, sort of thing.

Unless of course Poirier v. Khabib needs a rematch, depending on how their match goes.

Man, I'm not really interested in seeing khabib v conor 2 for the belt or without it. Conor will never catch up to khabibs wrestling no matter what. The skill gap is huge there.

Conors coach has been pushing for the nate trilogy fight. I wouldnt mind seeing that. I thought nate edged him in the 2nd fight. And now that nate is back, i think its the perfect time for it.

I dont think conor beats dustin, holloway, ferguson and khabib. I dont think he beats cerrone either. So his chances of cashing out big is the nate trilogy

But i think its complete bs if tony doesnt get the title shot.

Well, it beats Conor getting a title shot. :001_rolle

I think his name recognition and notoriety bumps him a bit higher up the rankings than he otherwise "deserves" to be, because ultimately this is a business about bums in seats and PPV buys. I think a lot of casual fans would buy into (literally) a Conor v. Khabib rematch ... even if you are ultimately correct in your assessment.

Conors coach has been pushing for the nate trilogy fight.

That I could also see as a sell-able fight, and one that makes more sense for Conor in terms of "legacy" and chance to win. For Nate, it could be his "stepping stone match" for entry into the elite "one of us will challenge for the title" group of fighters (assuming he wins).

Conor's last fight? Assuming he and/or his coach agree with your assessment of the various fighters he won't be able to beat, is there a point to sticking around the UFC to be a mid-carder who becomes more and more punch-drunk?

You make a very strong point.

The khabib rematch will sell, along with a poirier rematch. Conor has beat one (major selling point) and would be looking for revenge in the other (another sell point)

Like you say, the ufc is into money and those fights would make a ton of it.

I miss the golden era of mma.

Same here.

Even though I'm a little worried about Whittakers ring rust, i still think he can get it done. Gastelum was able to piece up israel pretty good, and i think rob is a better striker than Gastelum.

Wow, I feel like me and you are the only ones who think Rob will win. I just think that he'll strike well, and if he gets in trouble be smart enough to take Adesanya down. I feel like the Adesanya hype train is out of control.

brunson is nothing special, beating silva (who i think won a round against israel) at this stage is not the victory it used to be, and while gastelum is probably his most solid win, he REALLY struggled to get that win.

Robert winning over romero twice sort of trumps most of israels wins. He also beat jacare.

With israel calling out jones, and saying he will fight stipe... I wanna see rob bring him down to earth.

There goes my prediction, hahaha.

I honestly have no idea what robert was doing, lunging in there like that with his chin open. Taylor made for adesanya to counter.

Adesanya is gonna be insufferable until he loses.

The unfortunate thing is we get Costa next, who Adesanya will walk through. I'd like to see Gastelum fight Adesanya again. He would probably change the gameplan and try to wrestle a little more this time around.

i believe you are correct. Costa has all the power in his hands to KO anyone at 185. But his technique isnt there. He relies on his chin to land bombs. Bad idea against someone like adesanya.

I will admit that israels skills are solid. I just dont like boastful fighters.

I just dont like boastful fighters.

Adesanya's technique is out of this world. The comparisons to Anderson aren't far-fetched. The use of reach, and countering reminds me of prime Anderson.

I feel the same way about him. A little humility would go a long way. However, I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'm a big fan of Mcgregor and Masvidal both of whom aren't the most humble people of all time.

Adesanya vs Costa will be interesting!

I just don't see it. I felt like Romero won in the Costa Romero fight. So, in my opinion, I think Romero should be the one fighting for the title this time, and Costa should be fighting Gastelum.

Adesanya's striking is just on another level. Costa will probably catch a two-piece too, or maybe a 3-piece and a soda.

Romero Costa was an amazing fight, i wasnt expecting that kind of show :)

I've never liked conor. And based on his out of cage antics, hitting old men, cheating on is wife, doing drugs with escorts, assaulting fighters, jumping in the cage to assault a ref, a possible rape charge. I dont see how he has any fans at all

I honestly dont think jorge is a boastful fighter. He really didnt like askren, another tool i dislike. Masvidal is a fighter that will retaliate if you say something first. So far i havent seen any beef between him and nate.

Costa has an ok chance simply because i read that gastelum is his training partner. Plenty of insight there.

Man, i still cant help but wonder what robert was doing lunging in chin up last saturday. Had he stayed patient... who knows.

It did seem like a bad gameplan. I really wanted Whittaker to win. He's a class act in victory and now in defeat.

I've never seen Conor's misdeeds listed out like that. I guess it is pretty surprising.

I can't wait for Masvidal Diaz. It's true that it seems they have mutual respect. Askren deserved the MGM Grand Buffet that he was served.
