What's new

tallow

I have only recently become fully indoctrinated into to wonderful world of tallow-based soaps. Seems to me this stuff generates the most thick and luxurious lathers, has incredible lubrication qualities, and leaves my face feeling fully treated with emollients. I'm sold on this stuff, no going back.

I couldn't agree more!! Though there are many non-tallow soaps that I like and use (Mama Bear's, SRD Bulgarian Rose, Proraso, Trumper's, etc.), I always favor the tallow soaps. I simply get a better, more enjoyable shave with them.

For me, the only soaps that come close to tallow soaps are those with shea butter - but I'm also a guy for whom tallow reigns supreme.

I too love tallow. I am slowly moving to tallow-only products. Tabac, AoS, C&S, and My Time Bath & Body will soon be the only things in my shave den.

Of course it can be done. Although I wouldn't recommend using the grease/fat off your morning breakfast of bacon and eggs. Without getting into many details, (but will iffen you want) it just wouldn't be a good choice to use the fat off your cooked meat. Lard from the store, new in the package would be better choice as one of the oils used.

But there is a fragrance that is technically sold with the name of being called Jerky scented. But the description says it's bordering on bacon. And many of the reviews say it smells more like bacon than jerky.
