Zenith Chubby Scrubby Shedding

Sunday Seven Day Double November 24

Blade - Single Use Feather🇯🇵
Razor - Lupo OC95 driven with a Chiseled Face Pineapple Twist Titanium Handle 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
Brush - Zenith Boar Chubby Scrubby B27 28-55mm🇮🇹
Soap - Felce Aromatica🇮🇹

I had a spent two fifteen minute intervals tugging loose hairs out of the Chubby Scrubby. Quite a few loose hairs removed. That seemed to cure the hair shredding. I spent some time reviewing replies on a thread with hair shredding. Well spent time. Of course I can’t find the thread. My take away was good as I will now change from a hot water soak to a cold water soak which I did for today’s shave. I believe in longer soaks to ensure complete hydration of the hair. After a squeeze to damp dry I rehydrate the brush with my bloom water. Saving the bloom water for brush dips, I squeeze the brush to damp dry again and load the brush right from the soap container to capacity. I always get a thick creamy lather with this method and zero air bubbles. Face lathering is a weekly luxury I look forward to. After applying the lather to face. Brush dips in the bloom water adjust the lather and slickness to my liking. Only a single hair shed for the face and head shave. Bonzer!

I didn’t think I would enjoy the 28mm scrubby especially being used to the 31mm big brother. I was pleasantly surprised. Both brushes are completely broken in. While the coverage footprint is smaller, the scrub was a tad heartier than what the big one delivers. The fully loaded brush was just enough lather for the face shave and touch-ups. I enjoyed the change more than I thought I would and I think I’ll rotate these two. Today’s brush and lather performance was excellent and the head and face shave was great.

I have three incoming boars. Two I have to set knots into handles. I enjoy putting brushes together and I enjoy breaking in boars. The Semogue SOC which I have been curious about for a few years. My first boar brush was a Semogue 2000 which I hated and couldn’t get rid of fast enough. A very airy long knot which flapped around like a wet noodle. Just rotating two brushes is a biweekly rotate. Don’t know what I’ll do with more brushes. It will definitely encourage me to finally get back onto BST in the new year. Sell off brushes some straights, and I can’t even remember what else I have stashed away. A good project to clean house.
