Super Speed Buying Binge!!!

Well, I'm apparently on a super-speed buying binge!:w00t::thumbup1:

Picked up a 40's era SS yesterday at an antique mall hereabouts and went to the mailbox today and found my I4 1963 Flaretip in the mail that I snagged from the Bay.

So, looks like tonight's shave will be with the 1963 Flaretip. The 40s era needs some scrubbing and soaking before it is ready to go. A quick dip in the barbasol should get this '63 ready to go.

Any tips on how the 63 Flaretip differs from the pre-WW II tech or the EJ DE 89L? Those are the two razors I've used so far. I am using Derby blades right now, as I have acquired no blade supply beyond Derby's and Indian Swords right now.

So, any recommendations on how I might expect it to shave differently?

What will dipping your razor in shaving cream do? :tongue_sm

I don't own any of those specific Superspeeds, but I do have a Black Handled SS and a Brit Rocket Flare Tip. They are both more aggressive than my Pre WWII Tech. Not by a huge amount though. I don't own an EJ89 so I have nothing on that.

I thought the canned goo could take rust off a bumper!:001_tt2:(Okay, maybe Barbasol doesn't qualify as canned goo--it is the best of the aerosol lot IMHO--and not a gel!)

Perhaps you're right--perhaps I should use the barbacide instead. :001_smile

Thaqnks for the input. I envy that British Rocket--those are supposed to be great! Thaks also on the aggressiveness tidbit. I'll be prepared for a similar and not drastically different shave.
