Spencer & Devon Shaving Creams

Hi All,

Anybody familiar with this brand? Saw it advertised on Uncrate and decided to check out their website. Seems like it's made with some decent stuff and comes in 3 scents (unscented, spice, sagerbrush). But at $27.50 for a 8oz puck it seems like you can get some more established brands like TOS or several tubes of Proraso.

They sponsor the Mike O'Meara show podcast, so I will buy some to support the show when I have the need and let everyone know what I think.

I have the Sage version and like it alot. Nice sage scent to the cream that stays through the shave but doesn't linger. So easy to lather it's amazing. It's a bit pricey but you get quite a bit. I figure, using the container every day, it will last 2 years or so. Figuring it that way, it's pretty inexpensive.

I've tried the Sagebrush and Spice. Both are really good creams....I'm just not crazy about the scents.

i just shaved my head using this sagebrush cream.....really nice functioning cream that gave a clean shave without nicks...i like that the cream has some awesome ingredients in it.

I have both the Sage and Unscented versions and enjoy them immensley. Both develop a Very thick and protective lather. I like the sage scent but many B+B contributors seem to dislike the scent. Also, when you mention the $27 pricetag, please remember that you are getting a huge jar. 8 oz(240 mg). If I recall correctly,I got the Uncented jars from Bullgoose Shaving at 50% off. It was a steal. They were having a closeout I think. At any rate, its very good stuff,IMO.

I would probably never have bought it, but I won the Spice in a contest elsewhere on the net, and I'm glad I did.

It's a really nice cream, makes a very slick lather and leaves the face feeling nice. It also takes a bit less product to make a good lather than was my experience with TOBS and Musgo Real.

They definitely have an uphill battle though - top tier performance, top tier ingredients, top tier price... but bottom tier visibility.

Russ, the VP at Spencer & Devon, has expressed interest in working with Garry to offer samples of his creams. Now we just have to convince Garry that people would buy it if he offered it. I was planning to drop Garry a note about some EdT decants, and I'll ask him what he thinks about offering S&D samples.

I'm on my second full tub of Spencer & Devon unscented these days. The first one last almost 5 months as my primary cream.
