Epic movies. There are movies and then there are "Epic Movies." You know, those certain great ones that you would/could and have, watched over and over again?

Just a few of mine.

Dances with Wolves? Anybody with me?

Master and Commander
Saving Private Ryan

Heck, I loved Water World and they said it was a total flop at the theater?
Just watched Dances with Wolves a few days for probably the 353rd time.

Field of Dreams and the Untouchables were pretty dang good as well.

We may be long lost brothers!!
Always choose the lesser of two weavels.
I love Water World

DancesWith Wolves is special.

I may lose you with this one: Pretty Woman.
I have no explanation as to why. I just watch it every time it’s on.

Old Yeller
The Champ

I watch Hallmark movies, so you know I will stay up watching Pretty Woman if it is on!

But I also like Westerns.

I guess I'm living proof that men never grow up!

Dances with wolves is a good movie, however I am not a Kevin Costner fan.

Water World was good. I remember Dana Carvy doing a bit on Water world..."You do not simply P in a mister coffee and get tasters choice" LOL But then again I am a Mad Maxx Fan so what do I know. My opinion is in-valid

I failed to mention the greatest movie of all time and a few of my other favorites.
The Sandlot-greatest/best of all time
Remo Williams; the adventure begins
Big Jake
The Quiet Man
McLintock
Hondo

Dirty Donuts are so Good.
A lot of great movies listed.I would add,

Shane
Lonesome Dove
The Highwaymen, this is a Netflix movie.

All three of those are fantastic movies and easily could be called epic movies. But are all the great movies we have seen considered epic?

There are just too many great movies to list. But what are the absolute Epic one's you would pick out of your greatest list?

For me, great movies would be:

Gladiator
Major Payne (didn't see that one coming) :)
Sandlot (I agree with Marty's pick)
The Last Samurai
A hole bunch of oldies Green Beret's, Cool Hand Luke, Bridge Over the River Kwai? :)

I haven't even got started. :)

My best Dana Carvey bit was "Church Lady." :)

Yes, Major Payne. I love his story of the little engine that could.

I have 8 Grandsons ranging from 12 years to 5 months and a 14 year old Grandaughter. I have seen Major Payne many, many times. Many people don't realize, Damon Wayans made another movie called "Blank Man" which is another comedy of his in the same theme as Major Payne. It's hilarous also.

I must look that up. They do not seem to be making movies that interest me much these days. Then again, I neither need or want to spend much time in front of the idiot box these days either LOL

Just off the top of my head, a few movies I would consider epic would be,
Dances With Wolves (of course)
The Godfather (1 and 2)
Lord of The Rings/Hobbit
Game of Thrones series

Godfather Is Epic! Nice one! I love all those kind of Movies. Casino? Reservoir Dogs? The Boondock Saints? :)

Can you believe, I have never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones?

Only the 1st Boondocks Saints though

My poor wife had never seen any of The Godfather movies, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Rambo, Rocky, and well you get the picture.
So after her brain tumor was removed and we were home recovering for 6 months we watched everything.

We just watched Major Payne last week.

Yeah, they make these sequels and trilologies and the first one of the bunch is all ways the best. Remember all the different "Blade" movies? I saw all 4 but the first one was the best.

I have read all of the Game Of Thrones books 5 times and watched the entire series 3 times.
I watched it an extra time with my wife when she was recovering.
Before that she would come in after putting the youngest to bed and I would be watching Ray Donovan or Game of Theones and she would only say, “You’re watching porn again?”
Then I got her hooked on both.
