Good smooth shave. No complaints other than this razor is sooo mild. Glad I'm revisiting it. The B&M Excelsior soap base is great. The Terror is a good methol. Not the coldest but nice. The AS is fantastic!

I'm traveling for work, and my travel shaves never go as well as the ones at home. Different lighting, different water, different routine - I almost always end up with nicks and/or irritation.

Not today! I brought along Antica Barbiera Colla and my goodness, what a treat. The shave itself felt like I had silk in the razor rather than a blade. :)

Working through Slantember with the German 37 and usin up inventory.
Today was the German 37, a German Wilkie (3), Colonel X2L, and Ogallala Bay Rum.

I was distracted by whatever stuff for couple of days, and, I am sorry to say, I haven't paid enough attention to making proper lather. The muscular memory is there, but I was lacking. Shaves weren't bad, just unremarkable. One has to try really hard to ruin Nuávia. Thankfully I didn't, on both counts: didn't try and didn't ruin. I could have bring out more out of my fifteen minutes of Zen.
Yesterday, I took my time, went on with the standard operating procedure. Immediately, I saw the benefits in the mirror - it was my face with the expression of content, bordering on "yeah, alright".

A&E matching balm
Fantastic all the way around. A&E is an Elite soap base. Top 3 for me. Postshave top 2. All 5 I have are wonderful scents. The balms are the best I've used. Titanium .95OC just my favorite. Gonna be a warm day in Cincy so this scent out by my pool is perfect!

A little over halfway to the finish line and I can safely say I haven't lost any steam yet. Decided to try a Bolanzo Superinox blade as I had purchased a couple of packs a few months back. For me, it's definitely not a GSB or a Lab Blue but I won't give a final verdict until the 2nd or 3rd shave with it.

Huh, I didn't realize it's been a full week since I posted in the thread. I'm still in and doing fine with no temptations.

Today I had Proraso green soap, my old Surrey boar, the Slim razor, an etched Gillette Platinum blade (5) and AV Ice Sport. Too lazy to photograph but what a great shave. That old brush did a great job lathering the Proraso and I love those etched Platinums - they are durable and give the easiest BBSes. And AV face feel is just awesome.

CFOTD

We hear of the good shaves but very few of the CFOTD (Cat Fight of the Day). Well, today was a CFOTD for me on the face.

Feather DX Kamisori
Feather ProGuard x1
SV Flying Mango soap
Simpson's Chubby 2 Super Badger

I've used this combination may times without issue. Always great. NOT TODAY! Not sure if it was technique or the blade. Everything felt nice but the first pass (and only pass) felt super smooth but then the blood letting began! My Lord! Lots of cuts, lots of blood. Haven't had a shave like this in 9+ months. Alum block and Styptic pencil needed after the first pass. Lots of burn. Finished with the Timeless Titanium .95OC. Applied Osage Rub and a very liberal dose of Nievia Sensitive Skin Balm. Still red, irritated and angry!

HEAD SHAVE

Same equipment only change was going with the Timeless Titanium .95OC. Same soap, brush, Astra SP x3. Super BBS 2 pass shave!

CFOTD.....Feather DX Kamisori won! No face shaves for awhile while I heal. Will try again to figure out what went wrong. Blade or technique.

Maybe we need to start a new thread or category called. CFOTD :a11::a11:
