Suprise in a vintage grooming kit that I won.
The handle is hollow aluminum? but the overall weight distribution is quite good.
I know nothing about the brand, the age (70ies?) or the specific model. Please feel free to educate me about it.
IIRC a similar one was sold / branded as 'Big Ben'. Basically an Old Type clone and a nice shaver.

These chromium New Deluxe Big Boys arrived recently, both serial numbered USA versions. The one on the left is for veneration/adoration purposes, and other to be used. I did use today, and it was a fantastic shave as expected.
Received a second Kaufmann's razor today, in a mismatched Gillette case.

A censored Rotbart case from a No 7000 set. It's either a white label produced by Roth&Büchner or by another company who got Roth&Büchners inventory after the war.
Interesting buy.
I have one with the same handle, the top is not the same as yours. Same origin (Argentina). As far as I could check in E Bay (Mercado Libre) I found that DE SRs sold with matching handles carried the brand "Invicta".

This, all bronze, unbranded, "industria argentina" SR for just USD 0.90. The weight makes me think is not a solid handle.
I did not shave with it, but I've got another one with the same comb - I assume it will be an aggressive creature.

Antique store find from Saturday! Gillette New Deluxe Big Boy in gold. @mattps1 what are the chances of these rare razors being acquired so close together.

My wife an I hit up a three story antique store Saturday that we have talked about stopping at for years. The store is an old two story elementary school that has been converted and the entire building is full including the basement. We spent three hours there and could probably go back tomorrow and find stuff we never saw. I was a little disappointed there wasn't more shave stuff. There really was only a couple SE razors, a really beat up Gillette tech, a handful of straights, and a few old brushes that were well beyond their serviceable years. I did however get lucky enough to find this gem of a Segal for just 6 bucks. It only came with half the box and what is there is in rough shape but the razor seems to be in pretty good condition. I don't think it has seen a lot of use. I knew absolutely nothing about this razor until I got home and dove down the rabbit hole of information on them. after some research I am glad I picked it up. Now I want to find the other models. I am hoping to modify a blade for it later this week to give it a try.
