What's new

Safety Razor Acquisition Thread.

Just got the Lucky Tiger and this BRAND NEW New Delivered. It looks to have never been used - no scratches where handle meets bottom plate & no scuffs in the lacquer coating. This is the new showpiece of my collection, and I'm confident that I'll be the first to ever shave with it.

Kind of a bummer, though, since for only $7 more, I could'a gotten a Gillette Heritage ...

That is a wonderful score sir, razor envy here

"Look what I found"
Gillette D1 1958 TV Special with original 6 Blue Blade Bank and user directions. Seller told me it was unused. I can’t confirm that but it is in very good condition. Even the paper user info is in great shape

This little $8 beauty arrived yesterday. Handle cracked end-to-end & re-split after silver soldering. The ball end was worn down to brass but the head end cleaned up to look brand new. Head & bottom plate looked like they were buried with Grandpa, but cleaned up great.

I cut a length of brass tubing & just finished nickeling it & the Ball end.
I'll be shaving with it tomorrow.

I feel inadequate... Gorgeous!

I picked up a few the last couple weeks:

A 1904 that got picked up by accident with a group of single edges I was actually after, a late 1905 single ring, and an early 1906 single ring.

Two 1924 Olympic Specials, one L’Auto and one standard. The cases were made slightly differently from each other; the L’Auto case has a shorter bottom than the standard, while the standard has a shorter top so they are both the same height when closed.

A nice 1934 Aristocrat and a new Sheraton

A 1964 slim, a notched NDC super speed in the wrong case and two Ranger Techs without endcaps.

Excellent day for acquisitions today. A 21 razor lot from the bay I rolled the dice on...and scored.

Packing was a big time miss...I was very worried when I saw this.

A Sheraton I had very high hopes for...post cleaning pics in a moment.

Single Ring. A good haul. I've cleaned them and I'm even happier...the only one that needs more attention is the Fatboy. A trip to Cap and a replayed is in order. The others are in excellent used condition.

The Sheraton top cap. Perfect. No bent teeth and doors close perfect.

Gold tone SS? I think they made an Aristocrat or Aristocrat Jr. like this? More research needed. Although very pleased with the haul.

Amazing. I was worried about getting a lot like that. I see them, but I worry they are just too far gone. These look great! Congrats.

It's always a gamble. I saw the cased Sheraton and the Single Ring and couldn't resist. Luckily they both cleaned up very nicely. I generally wouldn't recommend it, but I made a judgement and lucked out.
Nice haul @brandaves. Congratulations. Some lovely razors there.
Thank you very much!

Nothing to compare with some of the beauties in this thread but here is my latest which I have yet to try. It is a cased 7 o'clock open long comb, made in England. eBay UK £15, not sure of the date but perhaps someone here can advise me?
