Replacement for Weishi

Ok, so I'm looking for a razor to replace the Weishi that my wife has been using. I need something that gentle and foolproof but not so poorly made (the mechanism on hers finally locked up so tight I can't get the old blade out). So should I be looking at a blue tip? Some variety of superspeed? A Ladystar? Or something else entirely?

I've had her try a couple of different merkurs as well as a new Shaving Factory branded razor. All have been far too aggressive for her and have resulted in large amounts of blood (let's just say that prep and technique have never been her priority). If weishis were made better I'd just buy another one of those. So thoughts?

I haven't felt anything as mild as a Weishi but some of the more mild Gillette's would be a tech, lady gillette, 50's style super speed (flare tip or blue tip) or even a 40's style super speed.

Good luck with your search!

I would get her a Feather Popular, they are great shavers.
It is certainly the most foolproof of my razors. It's very safe and forgiving for bad angle. I can also put the same pressure on it as my Mach 3 without any trouble at all.
You can get one for $13 brand new from our friend dridiot on Ebay.

Also, do teach her to cork her blades, she'll love it. She'll get a much better shave with far less nicks and discomfort :)

FWIW, I do have a Blue Tip, only it because it came as part of a lot that had other razors I was interested in. I used it for a couple of shaves, and found it very mild, which is what it's supposed to be, but it worked perfectly well. If she was happy with the Weishi before, this might be something that handles much the same. I don't plan to sell mine, but I'd bet you could find one for not too much on B/S/T.
