I started this part of wet shaving 9 years ago with a Merkur 34c and thought it was life changer when it come to shaving besides lathering up some VDH Luxury soap. I never had such a good shave. Of I went down the rabbit hole of shave soap and cream but not so much razors until I decided to get some vintage Gillette razors and in my birthyear and quarter. I was on eBay and found a Tech, a Superspeed(birthyear but not quarter) and a Slim adjustable in my birthyear(I think the first one was birthyear but not quarter). After trying them I couldn't believe how good the Slim adjustable was, I pretty much found my holy grail. I got my friend into this type of shaving and gave him my Slim after I found one in my birthyear and quarter, then of course I found a replated in gold birthyear and quarter Slim and had to have it. My friend got his SIL into this kind of shaving so I sold that Slim to him. Still rocking the gold Slim. I have since bought a few other razors including a Fatboy, Schick Krona, Gillette new short comb, VDH twist to open, and the plastic/aluminum mixed Wilkinson Sword Classic razor. None can top the Slim but my last purchase 1 1/2 years ago of a Vikings Blade Emperor Meiji adjustable razor, although quite aggressive, can give the Slim a run for its money and ties with the Fatboy for second. Funny thing is that 34c I started with that I thought was a super razor I can't even use it, it is so uncomfortable to use now no matter what blade I use in it. I can't even get myself to get rid of it because it is what I started this journey with.
