What Razor was made for You?

I’ve been at this hobby of ‘traditional wet shaving’ for about 12 years now and like a lot of you, I have tried many razors of all types, searching for the one that feels like it was made just for me.

The first one that I thought filled that slot was the Above The Tie DE model SB90 ATT Windsor Pro. I thought nothing could replace it; it was so smooth.
Then came along the Leaf Thorn SE that moved to my number one slot. Again, it felt like the razor was made just for me.

This time something came along that was really different and gives me the best shave by far. This razor is noticeably better than the others. It is the RazoRock Cyber razor. It shaves so close and so smooth with absolutely no irritation. I don’t know how any razor could get better than this; for me anyway.

Do you have a razor that shaves so smooth that you feel like it was made just for you? Let us know. A picture would be nice.

I'd have to say it is the one razor I've done the most customization on. My Yaqi Ultima.

I added a tougher compression spring and gave it a custom titanium nitride finish. The ridiculous expense of that coating undoubtedly makes it the only Ultima like it on the planet [he said humbly]. Thus, uniquely mine.

It probably depends on the day. Right now, I'm leaning toward my Gillette New Long Comb. Something about it matches my current technique, consistently delivering smooth, comfortable, and efficient shaves. Plus, it is just a beauty to look at it (warts and all).

It just makes me happy.

The Merkur 34C has got to be one of the most popular razors in the world. It was my second DE razor also.

My son-in-law started wetshaving several years before me, and still uses his first and only DE, a 34C with Feather blades. He is not a B&B member, because he started wetshaving to save money. I have passed on some better brushes and soaps over the years, and he'll have to figure out what to do with all mine when I croak.
