I had MWF a while back, then gave up on it due to inconsistant results.
After erading some recent threads about temperature having a strong effect on the lanolin content I ordered up another bowl (the bowl is just too cool!)
Previously I had been a bowl lathering scuttle junkie. I am now a reformed face latherer, and I figured it may be worth another go.
I'm glad I did!
I do remember getting some great shaves amidst some less than favorable results (I attribute to the heat generated by the scuttle).
The lather is unique, and is not quite as thick and creamy as some other tallow soaps. When I milled the puck via Cuisinart, it didn't turn into the regular soap sawdust either, it became little lanolin balls, definitely a different makeup to the soap.
It does tend towards the light side as far as lather consistancy, yet seems to be plenty protective and slick.
Effective? For me, yes.
Leaves your skin feeling nice? Yup.
