Rozafa by Cold Blade Global: A Luxurious Shaving Experience Fit for a King

In full disclosure, I won this soap in a Drawing on the Shave Dad Facebook group. That said, I would most definitely buy it.

Rozafa, named after the majestic Albanian fortress, is an artisanal shaving soap embodying heritage and innovation. From its elegant, plastic-free packaging to its meticulously crafted lather, this soap delivers a shaving experience that's truly fit for royalty.

Unboxing a Treasure: The soap arrives in a stunning, embossed aluminum canister, a testament to Cold Blade Global's commitment to quality and sustainability. The magnetic flap opens to reveal a beautifully stamped puck, with its intricate design hinting at the luxurious experience on offer. The natural, well-crafted box makes it an ideal gift – especially for oneself.

A Fragrance Fit for a Gentleman: The scent is a captivating blend of vetiver, amber, moss, and fern, brightened by grapefruit and citrus accents. It evokes the classic barbershop experience I remember from going to the barber with my grandad, yet it feels modern and fresh. It lingers subtly, leaving a lasting impression of refinement.

Lather Fit for a King: Rozafa's triple-milled, cauldron-crafted formula is a testament to centuries-old soap-making traditions. The soap requires some coaxing and even more water to build lather, but the reward is a dense, slick, and protective cushion that effortlessly glides the razor. My skin felt remarkably smooth and hydrated afterward, even before applying balm.

The Shave: I paired Rozafa with my Alpha Shaving Spirit SE Artist Club razor, a Kai Captain Titan Mild blade, and custom Runeman Svartelfheim brush. The combination delivered an exceptionally close and comfortable shave, leaving my skin feeling pampered and refreshed. The Spirit SE was its usual fantastic self. This soap and no pre-shave lubrication resulted in a 3-pass BBS with no irritation, even on my infamous chin to Adam’s apple turkey neck. In fact, it was so smooth I may try a Feather Pro Super and shoot for a 2-pass next time.

The Finishing Touches: To complete the experience, I added Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura Balsamo Dopobarba and EDT. The balm's natural ingredients and citrus-floral notes beautifully complemented Rozafa's scent profile, while the EDT added a final touch of sophistication.

Net: Rozafa is a high-quality, artisanal shaving soap that delivers an exceptional and luxurious experience. Its captivating fragrance, elegant packaging, and skin-loving formula make it a must-try for any discerning wet shaver. Whether treating yourself or searching for the perfect gift, Rozafa will surely impress.

The Shave:
Prep
: Hot shower, Botanic Tree Glycolic Acid + Kombucha Exfoliating Face Cleanser, Head & Shoulders Conditioner with Manuka Honey (no pre-shave oil or gel for the review)
Razor: Alpha Shaving Spirit SE Artist Club. Very light and nimble, both smooth and efficient. Half the weight and 2/3 the width of the Claymore.
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild—It is crafted with the latest Kai technology. The PINK (Plasma Ion New process) hardens the blade, which is then coated with titanium for durability. The blade is finished with a PTFE coating for a smooth shave.
Brush: Runeman Svartelfheim w/ Boti SHD Captains Finest 2 Band Hybrid. This was a custom build for me by Rune Jans. Svartalfheim (Old Norse Svartálfaheimr), “Homeland of the Black Elves” The dwarves are master smiths and craftsmen who live beneath the ground.
Soap: Cold Blade Global Rozafa
Bowl: Sharpe Shaver Cyclone 3D Printed “Shave Dad” Wet Shaving Lather Bowl
Balm: Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura Balsamo Dopobarba - notes of bergamot, orange, petitgrain, coriander, narcissus, and jasmine sambac, that to me, paired well with Rozafa. Like Rozafa, it is natural and has active ingredients like aloe vera, grape vine extract, almond oil, and wheat germ oil.
EDT: Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura
