What's new

Just won this. What is it?

I just scored this oc razor on the bay. However, I haven't a clue who the maker is. The seller suggests Hoffritz, but he doesn't know either. The only markings I can see are "MADE IN GERMANY" on the bottom of the guard.

So, any thoughts, guys? I can only guess. It looks to be in pretty good shape. All the teeth are straight, but there are some nasty deposits around them. Meh, I thought it looked like a keeper. The price helped my justification as well ;) Good score? Opinions? Bueller?

It is a pre-WWII, or WWII, era travel razor more than likely made in Solingen Germany.
The reason why I say it is that age, is because after 1949 the countries were known as East and West Germany. It would have been marked West Germany after the war reparations were complete and the Marshall plan in effect.

I have a couple of travel razors of that type. Enjoy.

Yes german travel razor. The handle telescopes inside itself and makes a really compact unit, about 1/4 the size of the gillette tuckaway. It should have come with a hammered metal case. The head is not all that great IMHO but a fatip head fits nicely and makes it an excellent travel razor.
