I've been trying to convince the owner of this one to sell it to me for a couple years now. To no avail. I would have more luck acquiring a hen's tooth.

I wonder if the person who bought this one is a fellow forum member. We're talking about probably the rarest Gillette razor ever and only people who have a clue about it would buy it and most of the info available comes from this and a few other shaving forums. Newbies and casual DE/wetshavers don't know such things.

How much more he might have got on a different day is highly speculative.
Every serious collector knows about ebay. There were 20 bids.
I'd say the item found its market value.
Besides, I got the later Techmatic for just a few dollars.
