Head shave this morning with a top three blade for me, the Personna Lab Blue. Excellent shave, really shines in the Yaqi Mellon, or any razor for me. Playing with blades is fun, but using the favorites reminds one of why they are the favorites.

Been using other blades and finally using my Karve OC plates... In trying three OC plates and different blades I have concluded the Karve isn't for me.

Last shave was the Karve OC D with a Rapira Lux.

Still in. Another zen shave today. I'm testing a new blade Gillette Platinum and it was really smooth today. Only two shaves with it, so it's too soon to judge, but so far I like it.

Today's was a 1.5-pass shave: WTG on the cheeks, plus WTG and XTG on the neck. As usual, the no-name brush gave me a great lather with the Mike's soap, and the badger hair is gradually losing the prickliness that it had in the beginning.

That's good, because I considered not using the brush after the first few tries based on the tiny-stabs feeling it gave, but I stuck with it in the hope that the tips would soften with use. It looks like I'm being rewarded for my patience.

Post-Shave: Alum Block
Nivea 2-Phase Lotion
Scottish Fine Soaps Vetiver & Sandalwood ASB

4 weeks growth mown down with the Rockwell 6C, although not without having to keep clearing out the lather channels. 3 pass shave on plate 6 was comfortable resulting in a BBS shave.
Won’t be waiting 4 weeks before shaving anytime soon.
Fully recovered from COVID now and thanks for all the kind words and best wishes

Well it's a good thing that the B&B contributors brush purchase was allowed... I couldn't resist the Jade 25mm Mühle STF.

So tonight's shave was a bit rushed due to getting called in to work for the overnight.

One pass, socially acceptable shave.

Had a good autopilot face shave with the Rockwell, and did a single pass on my neck.

Easy and efficient - that is how to describe today's shave in a nutshell. Two passes and the combo of RPL (2) and Mühle R41 GS finished the work with a bbs result. Very nice.

Only two more days...

Is the neck aluminium or nickel plated brass? Can't see very well on the photo.

I think its aluminium, the razor weighs 46g which is the same as my blue tip superspeed.

Looks like aluminium to me. If I remember correctly until R-2 (1971) all were aluminium. In R-3 there are both aluminium and nickel plated brass. Later ones are only brass necks.
