Gillette SS and upper lip

Recently, I started using a 1965 Gillette SuperSpeed inherited from my father. One really nice thing I discovered about this razor is that I can actually shave that problem spot directly under the nose and to either side, and with little difficulty at that. This is an area which I never could quite get with either my Merkur razor (1904 Classic) or the SE razors which I sometimes use.

Has anyone else found that the Gillette SS solves this difficult shaving area?

At the moment because we are in the process of moving my 65 SS is all I am using and I agree, with a couple of angles under the nose is now an easy area for me.

It was the opposite for me.
The fixed head Merkurs were easy for me from the start.
Vintage Gillettes took much longer for me to figure out.
As a matter of fact, I just tackled a three-day thicket with a '64 SS and got a nice nick under my nose

Same with me (with a Rocket anyway); the shape of the head makes upper lip shaving really easy.
