What's new

Black Land Osprey SS (my opinion)

@Iridian, well said mate. I think all things said and done, I'm just not a fan of adjustables. I have friends that only use Adjustable razors but its just a matter of personal preference. I will always admire the engineering and the craft that goes into each adjustable whether it be the Gibbs, the Rocnel Sailor, the Elbrus, the Torqx, the Muramasa or for that matter the Osprey.

The issue is that I sold off all my adjustable razors and that's cause I prefer a fixed plate or level. I have an OCD issue with cleaning, drying and keeping my razors looking like new. I find that very cumbersome with an adjustable Razor.

As for the Ambassador, the Konsul or even the Envoy, I'm not a fan after having tried them out but I have mates who call them the holy grail of shaving tools.
Have you considered getting an ultrasonic parts cleaner? I have a $50 one from Vevor. I just run straight Simple Green in mine. Put a dirty razor, or wristwatch or eyeglasses or whatever in, a half hour later you pull out a shiny, clean item. No fuss.

That's true mate, an ultra sonic cleaner would sort things out but I'm just not a fan of adjustables. Learned pride of ownership from my Grandma and I love taking my time with drying and shining those three piece razors back to their prime.
When I was a kid a neighbour if mine spent hours polishing his Claude Butler Bicycle tyre rims till you could see your face in them. It was a ritual every Sunday and I guess I picked that habit up from him.
I respect the Osprey and all adjustable razors just not a fan personally. Cleaning them is a second reason I guess
