How to shave against the grain (ATG) without getting nicks?

I don't consider my beard exceptionally heavy, but, I look like a hobo if I skip two days. If I skip one, I just look like someone who needs a shave.

I can't even tell you what WTG, ATG, or XTG are since my beard grows in every imaginable direction. I abandoned "ATG" (for most, I assume this is South-North) because it yielded no closer shaves with more irritation.

My typical shave is North-South, two passes, rinsed and lathered each pass. My second pass isn't a true North-South, it is more of a narrow "V," starting at the top of an ear and moving toward the center of my jaw, performing parallel strokes down to my neck. When I'm on my neck, I stretch the skin to take care of my loose old man neck. I always buff my chin.

This gives me a DFS every day, which is good enough. If I need a BBS, I will add a third pass on my neck only, going from the center of my chin to the bottom middle of my neck, then adding the parallel strokes to complete; I then repeat on the other side. Essentially, my third pass results in an "X" below my jawline.
