Favorite Razor Cases

After collecting razors I was thinking about the cases I like the most . The Fatboy reminds me of that era it was manufactured in, the script looks as it came from a 50s Cadillac. The Hoffritz slant case is built like a tank and just looks cool in my opinion. I know some of the pocket editions are very ornate, but these 2 are my personal favorites.

I like the khaki set cases w/ mirrors built in.
Autostrops came in some pretty cool ones too, where the hinge also connects a little divider thing that snaps up keeping the strop in place in the lid.
Agree on the merkur/hoffritz/whateverotherbranditgoesby cases. Simple, solid, shiny.
Gillette's celluloid cases w/ matching blade boxes were awesome.
Rolls. wow. very nice looking.
And then my new toy, a tru-flex, where the case converts to a handle.

If you're talking about Gillette cases, it would be easier to discuss the ones you didn't like. Gillette did an amazing job of matching unique case designs to their razors for optimum display purposes and functionality. My top 10 (in no particular order) would be:

Double Ring
Empire Pocket Set
Military Set
Khaki Set
Big Fellow (both wood and metal)
Bostonian
Regent Tech
White Bakelite #46
Both Executive cases

My personal favorite. Hasn't been on the bay lately. Elephant ivory is just so unPC anymore, not like in '21 when it made a handy dandy case for a $2.00 Tuckaway.: Thanks again to Mr-Razor for the pic.

The Ivory colored plastic cases Merkur used to use are some of my favorites, much nice then the clear topped case where the hinge breaks off.
The wooden case Gillette used is very nice too.

All beautiful cases shown here. One of my favorites is the faux ivory case for some of the early Aristocrats or for this single ring case shown here.

The Kennedy era slim cases, just looked so perfectly appropriate for their time and place. We were going to go to the moon, and damn it, the astronauts would be using a slim adjustable when they got there.

Those cases from the late 1950s and 1960s have that mid-century minimalism that was just so ... well ... cool. Simple, yet design forward ... quite a contrast to what Gillette is currently churning out.

Like AsylumGuido said; "I think the Regent Tech case is hard to beat."

Now, I'm not commenting on the man, his business practices or personality, and maybe the subject is only vintage cases, but I was struck by the simple beauty of the iKon Lucite case. I generally prefer old fashioned items with lots of character, but I was taken by that clear polycarbonate case.
