Cream drying out in the mail

I recently acquired some DR Harris Arlington SC through BST. After sitting in my mailbox while I was at work, the cream became thoroughly melted (its about 105* during the day :thumbdown ). I brought it in and stuck it in the fridge to re-solidify and after it firmed up I left it out to get to room temperature for a few hours before using it. After my shower and prep I went to use the cream and it was very crusty and hard, almost like a very soft soap. When I tried to lather it in my bowl most of it broke up but there was still some chunks of unincorporated cream in my bowl lather when I was done. Is this normal after a cream has melted? Should I add a little water to it and whip it up with a spoon to get it back to its 'normal' form like my other creams? Any advice would be greatly appreciated it.

Your climate is about like mine. I had the same problem but left it at room temperature for a few days. That didn't stop me from shaving with it while it was in soup form. Did you take the top off when you put it in the fridge? That would cause it to dry out somewhat.

Yeah I just treated it like a soap when i used it. I left the top on as well as the inner lid cover. Glad to hear that its salvageable  . Thanks guys

Today I received a pot of D.R. Harris Marlborough cream and found it to be pretty much dried out. It's certainly not a cream as it's slightly softer than a soap (but not much) and it doesn't seem to have much, if any scent. I got in touch with the retailer who apparently checked another pot in a new batch and that is the same. It's a bit of a shame really as I was looking forward to using it.

I had some cream melt in my mail box a few weeks ago. I just put the top on and waited a day before using it. It had been fine since.

Worst case scenario is it doesn't completely come back and I give it to the SWMBO to use and I get to buy some new stuff

After 36 hours of sitting inside in the AC with semi-moist air it seems to be 100% back to normal. Looking forward to tomorrow's shave to see how well it can really do.
