In my effort to find a Bay Rum shave cream that works well and whips up a nice lather, I recently started using Montana Natural Shave Company (MNSC) Bay Rum. After using it a few times, I have to say that I like it.
The scent is nice. For shave cream scents, I look for scents that I like while I'm using them, but not that hang in there after the shave and might conflict with my after shave. Essentially I'm looking for aroma therapy during the shave. MNSC Bay Rum does that for me, with a good scent that doesn't stay around after I rinse my face.
The cream is a bit more like what I would call a croap. It's stiff and seems to have some pieces of something in the mix. As a result, it takes longer to whip up a thick, not-too-wet lather. But a little goes a long way. If I use the same amount of product as I do with my TOBS creams, I end up with enough lather for 1.5 shaves. That means I back down on the amount to something like a small almond.
Lastly, it's a good value. A 4-oz tub was $15 on Amazon.
I see no reason to not make this part of my normal rotation.
