Consistency across the blade

Good work. Some of my Shapton Glass stones did not perform, until I removed a bit of the stone face, lapping with a 140 grit Atoma and smoothing with a 600.

Also do not overlook beveling or rounding the stone edges. Use a slight rolling X for your final laps.

You have made a lot of progress since the beginning of this thread. Keep honing and you will continue to gain more control and get better results.

When something works, make a note and try to come back to it.

I get better results when I end each step in the progression with light to zero pressure, and using shorter strokes helps me to lighten the pressure.

Another thing that helps me is to watch the edge. When the edge effortlessly undercuts the liquid is a good indication that you are at or or near the end for that stone in the progression.
