Body Shop *old* cream replacement ??

Greetings -

My tub of the 'old' Body Shop cream is on its last legs.
The new one is clearly a new formulation that, scent-wise, is not as appealing to me.

Any thoughts as to
i) what that old scent actually is
ii) whether anything comparable is out there?

Thanks.

I asked, last week, if any similar creams are in current production. The only replies I received said that in the UK, remaining old formula Body Shop cream has been relabeled Real Shaving Company Special Edition and is being sold at a discount chain. AFAIK, it is only available in the UK, and then only until the supply runs out.

As far as the scent goes, it is a sandalwood blend of some kind that was probably unique to The Body Shop.

I bought a pot of the Real Shaving Company Limited Edition Cream last Saturday at the Chelmsford branch of Pound Shop; cost me a £1 :001_smile ($1.60). To look at the cream is a light golden colour, it's very thick and creamy and has a sheen about it. Scent wise it's a mixture of sandalwood and something else, but I don't know what.

I've only used it once this week and it gave a very comfortable shave :thumbup1:

It's sesame seed oil, but there's some other stuff in there that I can't make out. I have never smelt another cream like it. It's not fantastic, it's just very different.

I started using the Body Shop shaving cream in 1985, in those days there really was sandalwood in there.

So far, I've sent three parcels of Real Shaving Company Limted Edition to the USA and one to the Netherlands. It is the old formula Body Shop cream right down to the plastic jars it comes in.

Obviously the postage ends up costing way more than the cream itself, but when you're getting the cream for £1 a jar it's still a decent price for a cream that's not going to be around for much longer.
