Bent aristocrat from ebay is an excuse take it apart... right?

So I thought I caught a deal that flew a bit under most people's radar... The picture showed this:

But when it arrived, it the head was very crooked - it's the one on the left - the one on the right is for comparison (the pic doesn't make it look nearly as bad as it was)

So naturally, I did this:

I'm actually considering taking apart regular slim and making a two-tone razor. I know many of you will think that is ridiculous, but the only other option is to take the 2nd aristocrat apart and swap barrels and twist handles as the new parts are nearly flawless. What do you guys think?

Just as long as you can get them back together ok. I kind of like the two tone idea. It would be unique.

The seller does have some standard verbiage like "don't like your purchase, we'll work something out". I think I paid about $17 out the door... didn't feel like bothering with trying to return it.

The seller may not have known, and they don't currently have any razors so I doubt they get them often. I didn't try to work it out with them, so I don't think it's fair to ruin their 100% rating (almost 9000 feedback).

Happened to me a few times on the bay. Lot of times they'll put the caveat: "we know nothing about these items," etc. Or something similar. Got a few "minor" issued razors from the bay, which makes me VERY cautious from now on. My 2 cents.

Well if we're talking about the great darkness that is ebay, then my opinion is to set your limit and stay within it. For example, I know that if I want a collectible piece I can go to the antique store or the BST and find one. If I want to roll the dice, I'll pop on ebay and throw down half the price and see what I come up with.

I've been burned plenty. But that has taught me a lesson....too bad I'm not paying attention to it.
